~Tablescape Tuesday~ A Traditional Christmas

Thank you Susan at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ for hosting Tablescape Tuesday. Check out her blog for all of the participants.
I have to admit, I really don't have alot of dinners at my house. We usually go to my parent's since there is more room. This year, however, we are eating here, so the table will stay just like it is for Christmas dinner.
The plates you see on my table are from.......The Dollar Store! Yep, I got them when I moved into this house about 4 yrs. ago. So many of you have such gorgeous china, I need to invest in some, but for now, these will have to do. The napkins came from T.J. Maxx, I picked them up a few days ago. The tablecloth came from J.C. Pennies last year. The centerpiece is made out of a thin garland that I shaped to fit around the candleholders. I added ornaments, apples, and ribbons. You can now click on the pictures to enlarge them.

I made the napkin rings out of beaded and bell garlands.

After I took these pictures, I tugged on the tablecloth and streched out these wrinkles! lol!

See the crystal snowman? He's one of my favorite Christmas pieces.

I spy a crystal mouse!

I've been meaning to show you my front door and snowmen, there's Sassy peeking out!

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! Thanks for your visits!

This is so pretty, Kristen. Your talents as a designer are so abundant. Me, I love Dollar Store--along with Big Lots and Fred's, too. K-Mart's Martha stuff is wonderful...and Walmart makes me crazy to go there, but they do have the neatest things. These places are a tablescapers secret weapons! For Thanksgiving, my clear dishes came from K-Mart, 12 dishes for $16. Hope you have a blessed Christmas,
Hugs,
Gollum

Hi there! I was surfing the net with my Mom yesterday and came across your blog! We both love your home and decorating style. I was noticing the way that you do your Christmas tree toppers and I think they are fabulous. Would love some tips! I was trying to see the one on top of you parent's tree but couldn't quite make it out. Are these something you could make and sell or do they have to be assembled on the tree? Thanks!

Kristens Creations said...

Hi Stacy, Thanks for your nice compliments! The topper is a big bow, sometimes I put 3 together so it will be full all the way around. Then I just stick berries and different things around the bow. It would be nice if it all stayed together but haven't figured that out yet! Thanks, Kristen

I think the dollar store dishes are just as wonderful as fine china if that is what kind of girl you are. I wouldn't know what to do with fine china and with grandkids around, I would be worried about them breaking and not have any fun. Your decorations are beautiful! CArol
