Embellished Photo Albums

The hardware is ordered! I read each comment and took everything into consideration...and by unanimous decision the vote was to go for it! There were some concerns though...fingers could get caught or poked, paint could chip off, and I might be constantly straightening them! (which could be true) I never knew there was so much to think about when ordering little ole knobs! lol...Thank you all for your helpful opinions and feedback. I really appreciate it!!

I am working on all kinds of stuff right now...probably too much! lol...I ordered these photo albums at market and they recently came in. What I envisioned for them was nothing like how they turned out! Isn't that usually the way it is? Anyway, I am still experimenting, but I am really liking how they are turning out. I used beautiful ribbons and embellishments. Can you tell I am a ribbon junkie! I love coordinating ribbons...it's almost like coordinating fabrics. I have listed these in my Etsy store if you are interested. Also, if you would like a different letter let me know and can switch it out if I have the letter in stock. More to come!!

I will be doing the Easter mesh wreath tutorial at the first of next week. Hobby Lobby should have their Easter stuff on sale next week (crossing fingers)...but even if they don't I am still going to do it. You don't want to miss it! Oh... and.....my giveaway will be coming up soon...and.....I will have a new blog design coming up soon too!! Lots of new stuff coming up! Have a great weekend!

Birdcage Hardware...What Do You Think?

Hey guys! I hope you are having a great day! I wanted to show you some hardware I found online. Some of you suggested black and that's what I was thinking... I love birdcages so I think that's why I'm drawn to these. They also have the drawer handles to match. They have these on Ebay for $1.69 and the drawer pulls for $1.99. I researched and found this one at Home Depot...but they are $2.89 and $5.99 for the drawer pulls! Oh my! I need a total of 39 pulls in all so I think I will go Ebay if we all decide on these! Let me know what you think!!

Have a great day!

Yay!!! The New Appliances Are Finally In!!! Come And See!

This is a post I've been wanting to do for a long time!! I am so excited to show you my new appliances! Yipee!! I am so pleased with everything...they make the kitchen look so clean and fresh. Speaking of clean...I'm sure I will be cleaning lots of prints off of these babies...lol. Oh well... they are worth it and really update the kitchen!

This is a before pic with the black appliances...the black did not look bad, but since we had to replace the refrigerator and dishwasher anyways, we decided to go ahead and replace everything with the stainless steel to give the kitchen an updated look. This is our old refrigerator. We have had it for 13 years and has held up well. Would you believe it used to be white?? Yep...we had it painted at an auto body shop when we moved in. We were already maxed out and could not afford to buy a new fridge at the time, so that was our only option. The pantry is a whole other post...lol. The paint looked great...but they could not paint this part so I spray painted it with plastic spray paint. Unfortunately it chipped alot and always looked bad...I also had to paint over the "water" and "ice" buttons...lol. This was one of the reasons we replaced it, but the water and ice recently stopped working too, so it was definitely time!

Ahhhhh.....fresh, shiny and new!!
This is our old dishwasher...you know the thing that spins? Well, it broke off! And...it only worked on quick wash so nothing was ever really clean. Yuck!

Much better! And my dishes are clean now!!
Nothing was wrong with the old microwave and stove...we are selling them to a friend. These look so much better though!

Here is another picture of the whole kitchen. Would you believe I have taken back at least five rugs to go in front of the kitchen sink! lol...Still looking for the perfect one.

More angles...

Now that we got the new appliances in everything else looks bad! lol...Isn't that usually the way it is?? I am going to replace all the cabinet hardware and add another coat of glaze to the cabinets. I've been meaning to do that for a while anyways...so now I am ready! Any suggestions for hardware??
I have thought about painting this island for almost a year now! lol...In fact, some of you might remember the post I did about it. I am still thinking green with a glaze. What do you think? I need to get Kara over here from Elements Interiors! She is awesome at painting and glazing...pay her a visit if you have not already!
I have also been wanting a new kitchen table and chairs...however, since we just bought the appliances and I want to do some things outside, I better wait! But...what do you think about painting this set a dark brownish black and glazing it with a lighter color. I just feel like this set is floating in here. Everything is the same color. I also want to get a rug...still looking. I might look forever!! lol...
I think painting the lights the same color as the kitchen set might look good. I need more contrast in here! I also want to paint medallions and attach them around the lights. I'm tired of the green swirls I painted.

Now that the appliances are in and spring is coming I am feeling inspired! I am ready to get busy on these projects! I also have a CUTE spring giveaway coming up soon. Not to mention lots of new Etsy items!! Keep checking my store for arrangements, frames and tassels. Have a great week!!

Three Things...

Hey guys! I just wanted to tell you three quick things....First, my kitchen items have arrived!! I was trying to keep it a secret...haha! I'm sure you have no idea what they are so I thought I would give you a hint...lol! Kevin and his friend are going to install them on Saturday! YAY!!
Second... look what I got for Valentine's Day!! Yep...chocolate...Yum!! Kevin picked them out all by himself...although I told him where to go! haha! I think I gained a pound!Third...Remember I am going to do a tutorial on how to make an Easter/spring mesh wreath. I picked up these two rolls of mesh yesterday. I am waiting on Hobby Lobby to put their Easter stuff on sale...I'm hoping it will be next week. Those of you who have a Hobby Lobby know how they switch their sales from week to week. Anyway, I am going to look for some glittery eggs, springy silk flowers, Easter ribbons, and something really cute to go in the middle of the wreath...maybe a rabbit or a sign that says "Happy Easter". If you are going to make a wreath for yourself this might give you some ideas of what to get. There are endless possibilities...I can't wait to show you my updated kitchen!! I hope to post it this weekend if all goes as planned.

Have a wonderful Friday!!

~~Happy Valentine's Day~~

I want to wish you all a happy Valentine's Day today! I hope your day is filled with lots of love!!

Are you doing anything special? We have never really made a big deal out of Valentine's day. In fact, I used to dread it when I worked at the fower shop...now I can relax! Today I'm going to lunch with hubby and maybe if I'm lucky he'll pick me up a box of chocolates!! haha!
Have a great day!!

~~Valentine Mesh Wreath~~

Hi guys! Valentine's Day is just around the corner! I was looking through my older posts and came across these mesh wreaths I made for a client last year. You might remember them...just thought I'd post them again.
I am gathering up materials to make an Easter mesh wreath for my front door. I am going to show you how to make one for yourself too!! I have seen so many cute Easter items at Hobby Lobby and Michael's so I think it will turn out cute!

In case your wondering if we got hit by that snowstorm yesterday the answer is yes! Although we got 7 inches of snow it doesn't compare to what they got about an hour away from here up north. Some places got 30 inches!! It was a record for Arkansas...I still can't believe it! We have yet another snow day tomorrow! The kiddos might be going all summer! lol...The snow sure is pretty, but like I said in my last post...I"M READY FOR SPRING!!!

New Etsy Store Items Coming Tomorrow... Have a great weekend!!

P.S. I get my deco polymesh locally but if you are not able to find it in your town I have searched online and found a place to order it. It's called Audrey's Gifts and Home Decor. They have a very good selection of the polymesh and great prices. I usually pay $9.99 a roll... most of their rolls are $5.99 to $7.99. Just thought I would let you know in case you can't find it in your area. (I assume this is a reputable company but I have not ordered from them)

One more thing...you will need two rolls of the mesh...two different colors. I think I am using lavender and pink.

~~Dreaming Of Spring~~

Hey guys! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I finally got out a little after being snowed in and having a horrible head cold. I think I'm about over it now...I'm feeling much better. Anyways, I have been dreaming of spring over the last few weeks. I know alot of you are too! I do love the snow and think it's just beautiful. I even get a little excited at the news of a winter storm warning and run to the store along with a million other people! lol...Yes I do! I kind of like the idea that we can't leave the house and we are all stuck here together...the rest of the family might think differently...lol. Chase loves being out of school and getting to play in the snow. And guess what! We are expecting another winter storm on Wed. Yes, the day I am supposed to get my new kitchen items that I am waiting soooo patiently on (NOT) lol...they only deliver on Wednesdays for some reason! Oh well...I am still kind of excited about the snow though.
But....I also CANNOT WAIT for warmer weather!
I want to set pretty spring tablescapes...

Pick daffodils!
Plant my garden!

Sit out on the patio and let the sun shine on my face!
Decorate the covered patio with spring flowers and accessories...
Maybe even buy some new patio furniture...we'll see.
I think Sassy is tired of being cooped up in the house. She is ready to get outside and run and play!

This was my honeysuckle vine the other day...poor thing! It looks so cold! I wonder if the plants and grass are ready for spring? lol...
Well, the good news is that Spring is not that far away...unless you live way up north! Here in Arkansas we usually start having some warm days in March...although we've been known to have some snow in March too. I will try to enjoy the rest of the winter days and keep dreaming of warm weather. Have a great week!!

I've Been Snowed In So I might As Well Create!!

Hey guys! This was the scene at our house yesterday. It was only raining yesterday morning, but they closed the schools. They knew what was coming! It's a good thing they did close because it got slick fast! Schools were closed again today, but the sun came out and melted most of the ice on the street. Whew! I know alot of you have been hit by this storm and I hope that you are stocked up and staying warm!!

Chase would have had to miss school anyways, he has been sick. If he's not better in the morning I am going to take him to the doctor. Kevin has had a cold and has just passed it on to me...so I'm sitting here with Kleenex hanging out of my nose...lol...uggg!!!

Since I have been stuck at home I thought it would be a good time to get started on these frames! I had several custom orders that I just finished too. I have been dying to use some of my newest embellishments and ribbon!! This frame would be great for Valentine's Day, but could be left out year around in the right room. That ribbon is gorgeous!!!
Love the jeweled fleur de lis...it looks so pretty with blacks and golds.

I was so excited to find this beautiful red and gold silky striped ribbon!!! I think it's my favorite so far.

Beautiful rich colors...love the rhinestone flower too.

This flower is beautiful too!

More beautiful ribbons...I don't know what color to call the ribbon with the gold thread. It appears a little pink, but is not, it's more of a rusty coral color. I love the way it changes colors with the light.

LOVE the rhinestone rabbit!!! It is big and beautiful. I wanted to do some frames with a rabbit for everyday instead of Easter, so I was excited to find this one!
Looks good in my bookcase with the cat and birds...you can never have too many animal accessories...lol.
The zebra and red striped ribbon look so good together!

More beautiful ribbons...the tassel makes these frames so elegant!

That's all for now...but more are on the way. If you are interested in any of these frames please visit my Etsy Store
Remember when I said I have some changes coming to my kitchen? Well, they got delayed due to the ice, but will be here next week! (Crossing fingers) Looking forward to showing you all!
I think I need to go to bed and try to sleep off this cold! Have a great rest of the week!!
