Share Your Creations Party #31 And...Attention Dallas Customers!

Welcome to Share Your Creations Party #31!

Unfortunately, this week I will not be doing the features. I am leaving for Dallas at 10:00 a.m. and it is 3:00 a.m. right now and I can't think at all. I hope you will understand...I also hope you will go ahead and join the party this week. I have been seeing lots of beautiful spring creations popping up everywhere in blogland! It was a great party last week.

The reason I am up so late is because I have been getting ready for a spring show in Dallas I'm participating in on Friday. Lisa, my friend in Dallas, who recently opened her Etsy store called Canvas Designs  is participating in the show too. In fact, she and her mom told me I should do it since I was going to be in town anyway to visit and go to Dallas market. To make a long story short I signed up two days ago and have been making frames and arrangements ever since! Whew! So...if you live in the Dallas area come and see us! It will be at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church at 9800 Preston Rd. in Dallas, Tx. from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.this Friday. My little space will not be fancy...I won't be able to take any display equipment and will just have to do the best I can with a table or two. Oh well...it should be fun!

Here are some of the creations I am taking to the show.

What did you create?
You can link any item you have created, a room you have decorated, a piece of furniture you have painted, a vignette, a recipe and the list goes on and on...

Please add a link back to my blog so others can find the party.

You all have a great rest of the week! I will be back on Tuesday.

Pinterest Insprired Decorated Wire Stand

Happy Friday! I hope you are having a good day so far. It's not raining so I'm thankful for that! It has rained all week and I am ready for some sunshine!

The other day when I was on Pinterest I saw one of these wire stands decorated with greenery, rabbits and eggs. It was really cute so I pinned it. I wanted to make one for myself and went looking for the wire stand and found one at Kirkland's. It was on sale too! I went through my stash and picked out some moss, greenery, flowers, bunnies and ribbon and arranged them on the stand. No glue needed...everything is just laying in the stand.

I love the way the little bunnies are nestled among the flowers and greenery.

It was very easy to make...

I placed in on my island in a tray with a moss bunny and candle.

I bought the moss bunny at Pier 1 Imports and love him!

I think I might be overdoing the bunnies! Oh well...I showed you this tablescape last week but decided to add the "B" plates I found in my cabinet. I totally forgot I had them! Oops! I'll leave them out for a while...I like the frenchy touch they add.

I'm not this bad yet...but I might be soon! =0

There are just too many good ideas on Pinterest!

I have listed more arrangements in my Etsy store if you would like to take a look.

Have a great weekend!!

Share Your Creations Party #30

Welcome to Share Your Creations Party #30! It's officially spring...yay! I can't wait to see what springy things you are all creating!

Share Your Creations

On with the features...

Barb at Grits and Glamour created a beautiful Easter tablescape. Love the centerpiece...adorable!

Melissa at Melissa's Heart and Home just redecorated her guest bedroom in aqua and brown. It turned out just beautiful!
Liz at Savvy Seasons is sprucing up her home with some beautiful spring decorating by adding shades of green. Love the wire boxes she found at Hobby Lobby.

I had good intentions of showing you some new Etsy store items for my creations. However, I haven't been able to get things together yet. I will have some things listed by this evening though. So...I decided to show you my spring wreath from last year. Some of you might remember it. I'm sure I posted it, couldn't find the post anywhere. I used green mesh, yellow and orange ribbon, butterflies and flowers. In the middle I added a metal flower "Welcome" sign.

For my mesh wreath tutorial click here. Remember, if you make one send me a pic! I already have a few beautiful ones that I will show you soon.

What did you create?

You can share any item you have created, a room you have decorated, a piece of furniture you have painted, a vignette, a recipe and the list goes on and on...

I would appreciate a link back to my blog so others can find the party.

Spring Bunny Tablescape

I hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday! It's cloudy and rainy here and will be that way for the next few days...bummer. So to put me in a more cheerful mood I thought I would put together an Easter/spring tablescape. I used a cute pair of bunnies and napkins I found in Dallas the last time I was there. Of course I had all of the pretty flowers in my stash!

Would you believe those glasses are plastic? You wouldn't know it unless you picked them up. I purchased them at Wal-mart a few years ago along with the orange dishes.

The green dishes, napkin rings and wicker place mats are all from Pier 1 Imports. I want everything in that store!!

The napkins are by Mary Lake Thompson. She designs some of the cutest napkins, hand towels, totes etc. When I saw these cute bunnies I just had to have them! I had no plans of putting them in an arrangement. Sometimes things just come together unexpectedly I guess.

I didn't take a good picture of the wooden container, but I found it the other day in a booth at an antique mall. It was the perfect size for the centerpiece.

In spite of the rain, this tablescape brightens my day a little.

I am still working on the rest of the kitchen and hope to show you soon.

Thank you so much for the nice comments on the Easter mesh wreath! Remember, if you make one send me some pics! I would love to post them on my blog.

Be sure and come back Thursday for my Share Your Creations Party!

Easter Mesh Wreath Tutorial 2012

I hope you are having a wonderful Friday! What a beautiful day it is here today...I am loving these warm temps!

It's time for my Easter mesh wreath tutorial! I have done a few tutorials in the past, but thought I would do an updated version. In the last Easter mesh wreath tutorial I cut the mesh and tied it around the wreath. Alot of you complained that the mesh unraveled. Yes, it does tend to unravel unfortunately and needs trimming every now and then. Since my last tutorial I have worked with the mesh more and more and have learned a better way of attaching it without cutting it. I think you will agree this is a better way...

I hope you like how it turned out! I just love those cute bunnies...

Here are the supplies I used.

A grapevine wreath

A roll of 21 inch mesh

A roll of 4 inch mesh

Two different kinds of Easter ribbons

Flowers in pink, purple, cream and yellow

Bunny Welcome sign

White spray paint

I spray painted the grapevine wreath white just in case some of it showed through.

You should be able to find all of the supplies at Hobby Lobby and Michaels. The sign, ribbon, and most of the flowers were bought at Hobby Lobby. They also carry the mesh, however, I bought mine at a store that is locally owned.

You will also need wire or chenille stems, cutters, and a glue gun.

I used wrapped wire, but as I stated above, you can also use chenille stems.

Start by attaching pieces of the wire all around the wreath about 5 inches apart. Be sure and leave the wires long because you will be attaching the large and smaller mesh with it.

Start with the 21 inch mesh. Scrunch it and use the wire to attach it to the wreath preferably starting at the bottom. Make a puff and attach it with the next wire.

Keep making puffs all around the wreath and attaching them with the wire.

Yes, the mesh is prickly and a little hard to work with. But you can do it!

Soon it will look like this...

Remember how I told you to leave the wires long? Now you will attach the smaller mesh with the same wires. It is alot easier to work with.

Make sure the wire is twisted good and tight!

Then it will look like this...

You are now ready to attach the ribbon. Cut the ribbons in One and a half foot strips and tie them around the wreath in between the puffs. I double knotted them for security. This will take at least 6 yards of each ribbon.

It's starting to shape up!

Now it is time to add the flowers. This is when you will need the glue gun. Look how pitiful mine is! lol...and this is a new one! Oh my...

I start with one group of flowers at a time...first I started with pink. Start gluing them in the grapevine wreath. This is one reason I use grapevine as my base. It's easy to attach things to.

Next, I added the lavender and cream flowers.

And finally touches of yellow. I used flowers that coordinate with the mesh and wooden bunny "Welcome" sign. I also tend to lean towards the dainty side as you can see. However, the larger flowers would be pretty too...such as some tulips.

Now for the last step...take some of your wire or a chenille stem and attach the sign to the middle of the wreath. This particular sign had a metal hanger so it was easy to attach. You will probably want to attach it in a few places for more security.

All done and ready to display!!!

It looks pretty darn cute on my door...

I hope this tutorial was easy to understand. Please let me know if I left anything out or if you have questions. This is my version of doing this...I know there are more ways and maybe better ways! lol...The possibities are really endless. You could also convert this wreath into spring by changing out the bunnies and adding something like a butterfly, bird, or just a pretty "Welcome" sign. You could also leave it empty if you would like. Sooooo many possibilites!! If you make one of these please e-mail me a pic. I hope to get several then I will post pics on my blog.

Have fun creating!!
