My Design Portfolio~Part 2~And My New Roo!

Hey Guys! I hope you are having a great week! Mine has started out busy and will continue through the weekend. Do you have big plans for Labor Day? We have a family reunion on Saturday and might go to the lake on Monday. We'll see...Anyways, I mentioned I started working at the interior store some lately so I wanted to show you a little bit of what I have been making. Fall is just around the corner! This store has been getting in some cute fall items...it's really putting me in the fall mood! I'm also ready for cooler temps!
Look at this cute little scarecrow girl...I put her in a pot with a pumpkin and some fall flowers and foliage. How cute she would be on a front porch! (click to enlarge pics)

This scarecrow in the wagon was fun to make!
Fall Wreaths!

They sell alot of arrangements with the reds and golds.

I love all the wispy stuff!

An arrangement in a box! Love the bird lid...
Rust is really coming back in...they sell alot of it.

This one sold right after they put it out! It is actually in a gold basket and the birds sit on the handle.

I took a picture of these butterfly pictures on Friday and they sold over the weekend. Aren't they gorgeous!! They sure would look good in my house...and I love those butterfly pillows on the sofa!

This cute polka dotted rooster followed me home today! lol...Isn't he fun? I haven't bought anything since I have worked there, so it was about time! I used a container and fruits and foliage I already had and whipped this up in the kitchen! I haven't even glued him in yet. I just love him!! I really need to make one like this for the shop.

I posted part 1 of my design portfolio several months ago, I tried to create a link, but it's not working and hubby's in bed...sorry about that. I posted it on May 5 if you would like to take a look. Have a great rest of the week!!

My New Coffee Table...Found At A Garage Sale!

Hey Guys! I hope you are all having a great week! I wanted to show you my new coffee table. I found it at a garage sale...ok, it was my neighbor's garage sale so I got first dibs. I couldn't believe they were selling it! It looked really good in their house too...they just needed something with drawers. When I first saw them bring it out I thought of my brother who is needing a new coffee table. I realized it was too big, so I thought...hmmm...maybe I could use it and sell mine to my brother. So that's what I did! There was nothing wrong with my other one, it was really pretty. I just couldn't pass this one up...and since I am their favorite neighbor, they gave me an exellent deal...lol.
It really brightens the middle of the room up...I just love the iron and stone together. As you can see, I love mixing different types of furniture together. I don't know what my style is?? I like it all! The room looks a little busy from this angle. When you are in the house it doesn't look as busy, I think it's just the photography...lol. There's alot of space when you walk in the front door, so it feels more spacious. I am really liking this table! So glad I got it!

Some of you bought a rooster tassel last week... I have six more to make. Let me know if you would like one and I will hold it for you (as long as they last). They will be in these colors, but the ribbons will vary. You should see my craft room right now...well, maybe you shouldn't! I'm in the middle of redoing it. I added an ugly work table and will soon add a bookcase for shelves. I decided I better bite the bullet and think practical instead of pretty...lol. I need more space to work! Now I will be able to get more things done! Yay! Oh, I'm out of roosters for the arrangements, but will hopefully find more soon. I will be making some fall arrangments with pumkins as well.
Have a great rest of the week!

Chase Is In 5th Grade! Oh My!

I can't believe Chase is a 5th grader already! Time sure does fly. It seems like I was just dropping him off at preschool last week! lol... He started a new school this morning and was so excited. I can't wait to hear about his day! I hope it goes well and he meets alot of new friends...

It sure is quiet around here right now...except for Sassy playing with her squeeky ball. lol...If it was still summer, this room would probably be filled with kiddos! Oh wait! We probably wouldn't even be out of bed yet! hehehe
Well, it's time I get some stuff done around here...I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Getting My Blog Back In Shape...And Our Newest Project...

Hey Guys! The last days of summer are upon us! School starts Thursday! I love summer, but it's been so hot here you don't want to do anything and I want my blogging room back! LOL...Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to have a room where kids can come over and play games and computers, especially when it's this hot outside. I have also taken some kids swimming and to the waterpark to stay cool and get out of the house for a while. We've had fun! I think I need a schedule though. I am not getting up until around 10:00 most days, and by the time I water my flowers and get a shower... it's noon! Oh My! Well, it's time I get it together and get on the ball! My blog has suffered this summer and I've got to get it back in shape! I will be posting more often for sure...I always have more to show you in the fall. I have so many things to make for my Etsy store too...I will be listing some new items tonight. Even though it's still scorching here...I'm ready to get motivated again! I will also start working part time at the home furnishing store again... Yay! I will show you everything I make there. Thanks for sticking around over the summer months...

Our newest project... My hubby has been wanting a boat for YEARS! Every summer he complains that we have nothing to do as a family on the weekends...if we only had a boat. Well, since a big nice ski boat or yaht was out of the question, he bought a small sailboat...it's a 1959 Lido, but in really good condition. The only problem, was the bottom needed painting and the trailer needed some work and definetly some paint, you will see below... It's a pretty little boat...love the aqua color. We took it out last week and had alot of fun. Hubby still needs to practice on working those sails though...oh, and did you know you need wind for a sailboat? lol... that's why we put a little motor on the back. Hehehe. I painted the bottom of the boat with grip paint...now we won't slip around and it looks alot better. I also put some stain on that middle wood piece.

This is the trailer before...it's awful!

Here it is after hubby replaced some things and gave it a coat of paint. The only thing left is to put carpet on the boards...he will probably do that tonight. We are planning on going to the lake on Wed.

I admit...I had mixed emotions about buying this boat, but knew how much hubby wanted it. Although we didn't pay alot of money for it...I just kept thinking of things I could buy for the house! LOL!

I hope you will check my store tonight...I will be listing several items, including arrangements and rooster tassels.

Gotta get this blog going again!! Thanks for stopping by!

Edited to add Aug. 17...things got busy yesterday and I didn't get everything listed in my store, if all goes well, I should have several more items listed tonight. I apologize for the delay...

~~New Etsy Store Items~~

Hey Guys! How are you? I know it's been a while, but I hope you are all still having a great summer! I'll tell you, it is so hot here that chickens are laying hard boiled eggs! lol... Ok, maybe not that hot, but close. I know alot of you are experencing this heat too. It's supposed to be 104 tomorrow...Ouch! Well, it will probably be several more weeks, but it will eventually cool off.
Anyway, I finally got busy and made some new Etsy Store items. Alot of you know that I have been in a creative slump lately, but hopefully my creativity is returning. Yay! Here are the items I recently listed...
These two silk arrangements are full of beautiful rich colors with a sweet little bird. These arrangements can be left out all year around.

This is my last rooster! I hope I will be able to get more at market in Sept. I'm just about out of that pretty red plaid ribbon too! =(

This gold bee frame and fleur de lis tassel look perfect together.

I've sold several of these cross tassels.

I just listed three metal bird tassels.

My last flower...this frame is similar to the one I gave away.

This tassel would be so cute in a baby boy's room on a piece of furniture or hanging on a door knob.

A baby girl's room...It would make a great gift!
I thought this tassel and frame below would look adorable in a little girl's room. The zebra print is so popular right now.

Another bird tassel in black and cream...

This frame would make the perfect wedding gift.

This frame is very elegant with the blues, browns and golds. The crosses on all the frames really sparkle!

This tassel coordinates with the frame.
I have several initials available for these frames if you would like to customize one for yourself. I can also do these in different colors. Just let me know if you would like one! They make great gifts too!

Well, I still have more to post, but this is a good start. I hope you all have a great week!!
