Painting for fun

Hi Friends! These are a few things I've painted recently. I have painted furniture for a few people in the past and hope to do a little more now that I'm off work. I don't enjoy painting as much as I like doing floral design and crafts. For some reason I just want to hurry and get it done. It always feels good when I finish a piece! That's the fun part!

I took an oil painting class a few years ago. I already knew a little bit about it, but not much. In high school art was my favorite subject. I kind of quit painting until recently. In this painting I set up some apples and shined a light on them , this is what I saw.

I painted these designs around my light fixtures a few months ago. It's a pretty simple design and you really don't notice it unless you look up. It sure did hurt my neck doing it though!

This is the cornice board I painted today. Of course this is the before picture.

Here it is finished! This is going in a twin's room (boy and girl) The walls are green, like in the polk a dot. The girl's side is pinks, greens and a little yellow done in butterflys. The boy's side is in aqua, royal blue and greens done in fish. This cornice board has all the colors. The curtains that hang will be white silk with a green band on the bottom. This room is going to be soooooo cute. I've seen the bedding samples and both are adorable! My former bosses daughter(both are friends) is the one having the twins. They designed the room. Don't look at that dirty garage floor and I didn't have newspaper! He He.

This is a table I painted about a month ago. I wish I had a before pic. It was in BAD shape, I bought it for $1. I couldn't believe how cheap it was even though it was in bad condition. I played around with it for a while and this is what I came up with.

Thanks for visiting me!!

Thanks for visiting my blog today - I am having so much fun with it. I have to admit, a friend (also my co-worker) helped me with the slideshow) but isn't it great? I was up early and thought I'd jot down a couple of thoughts.
Please visit often as I love reading everyone's comments.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! I ended up using some of the same photos since I never took any better ones. I just got the outdoor rug from Ballards and it has been great so far. Did you end up ordering any topiaries?
~FYI~ You're doing a great job with the new blog. Melissa :)

Thanks for stopping by - love where you put your new little table - it is sooo cute there. If my bench doesn't hurry up and get here . . .
I see you added a "counter" to your blog or has that always been there? Since I've started mine, I'm really paying attention to what everyone else has on their's. LOL. I can't decide about the music though?? Oh well, I'm sure I'll add that eventually. I'm starting to look at things and sort of say to myself, hum, I wonder if that will be a good picture for my blog or what about that cute little story? Isn't that funny?
Well, have a good weekend if I don't talk with you again -

I'll look forward to your pics. I remember you made that little shelf for the twin room, right? I'm still learning how to post myself. If is wasn't for my co-worker, who is named Kristen also, I wouldn't be able to do half the stuff I'm doing. Have fun this weekend.

Everything is so.. beautiful!! You did a great job. I was wondering. Did you ever have problems from using wire cutters?? I think that's what's going on with me. I have made so many silk arrangements I can't even count them in the past couple of months. What kind of wire cutters do you use??? Hugs, Terrie
