Are you thinking about Christmas yet?
It's almost time to start decorating!
I decided to go ahead and do a tutorial on how to make a Christmas mesh wreath. I am starting to get really busy so I wanted to get this post up while I have time. I can also tell from my "Posts" section in blogger that my mesh wreath tutorial back in 2009 has been my most popular post so far! Looks like you guys like the mesh wreaths and want to learn how to make your own. I hope this tutorial helps!
Keep in mind that there are lots of different items you could use in your own wreath. I love making my wreaths all different...some have a Santa in the middle, or a present, and even a gingerbread man. Those are just a few ideas...the possibilities are endless!
Just be creative!
By the way, you will also need a glue gun, scissors, and wire cutters.
Then it will look like this...it's shaping up!
Next, hot glue in the fun stuff! I found these glitter ball sticks at Michael's. There are actually three on a stem. I ended up using seven pieces, so you will need to buy three stems.
Alternate them all around the wreath until it looks like this...
Next, I cut the curly sticks
and added them all around the wreath. I was going to hot glue them in, but ended up just wrapping the greenery around the ends. That was alot easier and they were secure... almost done!
Now for the final touch...the snowman!
He happened to have a wire at the top so I wired the greenery around it to secure it.
I also wired the greenery around the wire that attaches the "Welcome" sign.
No hot glue needed! However, depending on what you use, sometimes hot glue is needed.
All done! It's fun and whimsical!
Here it is on my door...fun and festive!

Remember, the possibilities are endless! Have fun with the items you pick out. If you make a Christmas mesh wreath I would love for you to e-mail me a picture. I would like to post them on my blog like I did at Easter. So get to work! I want to see what you come up with.

If I have left something out or you have questions please let me know! I am not an expert on these tutorials...lol.
I have listed more items in my Etsy store, but alot of them are already gone. I will be listing more as often as I can so be sure and check back. Alot of my items are one of a kind!
I hope you will come back on Thursday for my "Share Your Creations Party" I will have the linky tool up on Wed. evening.
Have a great week!

Great tutorial! I have also seen them done on the green plastic type wreaths and you use florist pins to secure the mesh etc. Yours is adorable! XO, Pinky

Hi Kristens, your creations are absolutely beautiful.
Hope all is well with you and your sweet family.

Um, yeah this is awesome! I just made two: one for me and one for my parents. Christmas music + this project = fun, fun! :)
how do you fix it to your front door?
I just want to tell you "THANK YOU" Kristen for posting such a great, easy tutorial! You are soo creative and so talented and I just adore you! I know it takes time out of your day to post such an extensive lesson, so I wanted to tell you I appreciate you and I'm going to make one of these!! Woo Hoo! Also, I'm an Arkansas girl, too! :)
How beautiful, Kristen! I have looked everywhere for the green with the red stripe mesh (Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Joanne's)........ any suggestions? I really like that combination!
Beautiful!!! It's totally amazing! I love the green with red stripe mesh but Hobby Lobby, Michael's or JoAnne's has it. Any suggestions for anywhere online? I love that combo!!!
Thank you for sharing this with us!
beautiful what is the mesh stuff called? Do you find it in the ribbon section?
Linda, I think I bought the small green mesh at Kirkland's last year, but I'm not positive. You might check there...
Michelle, the mesh should be in the Christmas ribbon section at Hobby Lobby. I'm not sure if Michael's is carrying it or not. I hope you find it! Kristen
I use a suction cup hook to attach it to my front door.
Thank you! I'll call Kirkland's tomorrow. Didn't even know they carried mesh ribbon! Learn something new every day!
Just FYI anyone else looking for the mesh ribbon. If you have a Ben Franklin in your area, they have both sizes, different patterns for Christmas or solid colors and they are on sale (not sure when it ends) for $5.99 a roll (narrow and wide). Saw the wide roll at Kirklands for $12.99, but not the smaller green with red stripe.
Hey girl - I did a mesh garland tutorial a few years back and it is getting lots of hits from pinterest, too. I was going to do a mesh wreath to match and found your post - so I just linked it to the end of my tutorial. I hope you don't mind. Love giving shout-outs to my fellow Arkansas gals!
Someone pinned this tutorial on Pinterest and I'm so glad they did! Your wreath is gorgeous! I am going to make one next weekend...after I track down all the supplies. ;) Thanks for sharing the tutorial!

I loved watching your site. It was so informative with step by step easy directions for us to follow, with such beautiful results at the end. I looking forward to looking up other things that you do.
This is so cute. It makes me want to go to one of my local craft shops and buy some fun things to make one.
Hi Kristens. I live in Puerto Rico and your home is beautiful. Is an inspiration for me. Would you please tell me the name of the color of your home. This yellow color is beautiful. Thanks for the tutorial. And remember Jesus love you. This is the reason of Christmast. Love
What a very cute idea! You could do one for every season/holiday. I wasn't even sure that there was a evergreen-ish wreath inside all that! Thanks for the great tutorial.
