A couple of weeks ago I showed you a sneak peek of my new framed metal wall art. I had the oil painting on the mantle for several years and was ready for a change. I still wanted something bright and bold that would make a statement and found this metal flower piece online. It was not big enough so I decided to mount it on gold chenille fabric and frame it. After hanging it it was still too small so I happened to have the scrolly piece stuck in my closet and added it to the top. It also covers a ton of holes! Oops!
I really like the way the metal flowers look with my new pillows. When I saw them online I actually went and got a pillow and held it up to the computer. I did end up brushing a little paint on the flowers and also sprayed some clear matte finish on them to take away some of the shine. Now they are the perfect colors.
I also redid the arrangements on the sides of the metal art piece. One thing calls for another! I have tried so many things on this mantle and still go back to being symmetrical. Why am I that way???
And here is the whole room with the newly decorated mantle. By the way, I am going to be adding a little gel stain to the mantle like I did a while back on my kitchen cabinets. I will show you when I'm done. It will be a sutble change.
Thanks for your visit!

The art piece looks great and unites your colors so well! Love the pillows, too! :)
i love the changes you have made. We had all cool colors in our living room but added some pops of coral and red after seeing those awesome pillows you added!
Hummm... I have some metal flowers that look a lot like yours. I was sitting here the other day looking at them and thinking they looked a little bland. I didn't think to add some paint to the flowers. I will now though, because I LOVE yours!!
May I ask where you got the metal flowers? I love it! Thanks!
