Met Monday...Initial pillow

Hey guys! I'm joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch today for Met Monday. What a great event! You can get some great ideas so be sure and visit her blog for a list of participants. This is a really simple little no sew project I did a while back. I already had the red pillow, but wanted to dress it up with an initial. I thought and thought and finally came up with a way to do this. I found the black pillow at Hobby Lobby half off and decided to buy it and cut the "B" out. I hoped it would work or I would have ruined a perfectly good pillow and lost my money. I actually tried the black pillow before cutting it up, but it was just a little bit boring. Anyway, I have had that yard of fringe for ever! I can't remember what I bought it for but it must not have worked. I also added some zebra striped ribbon that's not pictured here...you will see in the last pics.

I was so nervous cutting up that pillow! I cut it to size and hot glued it around the edges.

Next I glued on the fringe...I ended up cutting the fringe as you will be able to tell in the last pics. It was just a little too thick and bulky for this small pillow.

Here it is before...

And after...

See how I cut the fringe and added the zebra ribbon?(click to enlarge) I found
the ribbon a few days later and just glued it on. This turned out to be pretty simple after all and I Love the black background of the "B". I am adding some new pillows to my sofa too. Still working on that!
I hope you enjoyed this small transformation! I am redoing a desk to do my crafts on and hope to have it done for the next Met Monday! Maybe that will motivate me! Have a great week!

Our Trip to Dallas! Medieval Times...Market...and My Friend's Beautiful Home

Hi Guys! I've been trying to get this post up now for a while. You guys are keeping me busy making pumkin arrangements and frames!! Thanks!
Some of you have heard about my health problems...I just wanted to say that I'm fine. I have an irregular heartbeat and am now on medication for it. It has been going on for a while now. My bloodwork showed my liver enzymes were a little high, so I will have more bloodwork done soon. Ibuprofen can cause that too... I'm not worried. Say a little prayer for my hubby...he will be having surgery for a reoccuring problem next week. Everything hits at once doesn't it?!

Now for my trip...we had a blast! We stayed with my friend and former boss, Sherry. Her daughter lives in Dallas and recently had twins, so she and her husband Gerald bought a house down the street to help babysit. She also has a beautiful home here too, I'll have to take pictures of it sometime. We went to Medieval Times, it's a really neat place. Chase loved it! Sherry and I went to market while Kevin and Chase went to the Dallas World Aquarium. They said it was awesome! We also ate at my favorite place...The Saltgrass...Mmmmmm.

Here is Medieval Times...and yes it rained almost the whole time, but we still had fun.
They put on a really neat show and the food is great! It keeps you entertained.

Chase had so much fun.

This is a showroom at Market we used to order from alot. Looks like whimsical is really in! See the lighted presents...they are really popular! I just love this fun look!

I took more pictures of trees, but I will save them for later. This one was one of my favorites!

Now for Sherry's house...She is a great decorator! My aunt Pat and her are the best I know! She really did alot to this house...all new paint, carpet etc.

I've posted this room before, but I think she's finally or almost finished with it! lol...It's always evolving. Isn't it beautiful?!!

I love this secretary!

Sherry loves to read blogs! She ordered the picture from Fifi's Flowers and the Tassel from The Tassel House.

She...like my aunt...is a master at decorating bookcases.

A frame I made. Those are the adorable twins!

This dining room is gorgeous!! I made the arrangement on the table.

I'm sure you dishaholics will love this china! It is beautiful, not to mention the napkins and placemats.

This is in the family room, or her hubby's room! He has a great spot! He picked out the leather sofa and chair in this room... there is a pic of it on down. He also has great taste! I love that hanging leather tapestry!

Gerald's spot. This reclines, Kevin was so jealous!!

More wonderfully decorated bookcases.

Thanks for stopping by!! I will be posting more things for sale soon! Have a great weekend!!!
