My Trip to Dallas!

Hey everyone! I've been in Dallas for the past several days and have missed reading your blogs. I'll have to catch back up with you all soon. I have some pictures of my friend Sherry's house and a peek inside the Dallas Market Center to show you. Some of you know I used to work for Sherry when she owned an interior shop. We have been going to market for almost 10 years. Even though she doesn't have the shop anymore, she still has clients and a store up north that she buys for. First, I want to show you a few pictures of her house in Dallas. She is still working on it, but it is looking beautiful! I posted some pictures a few months ago, but she has added some things since then. The blues and creams are so soothing.

This mirrored chest is gorgeous!

This is the master bath. It's still in progress, but is going to be beautiful!!

I just love this chandy and the tops of the cabinets! Question?? She has a shower door that is gold metal around the edges that she would like to paint silver. Has anyone ever painted one before?

Now lets take a short trip to the market center. You can't tell alot about it in this picture......but it is huge! There are 5 buildings including the apparel mart that total 5 million square feet!!

Lets peek into a few windows to see what's in...... lots of color in this showroom.

Look at all the pillows.....more color!

Shabby Chic is so pretty!

More bright contempory...... Orchids are definitly in!

The browns and blues are everywhere.....look at that giant shell! Anything relating to the ocean is in too.
It looks like just about everything is in right now.....just do what you like!!
I bet it's hard for shop owners to know what to buy right now because of the economy. Lets hope our new president will make some much needed changes. I will be making more frames and posting them soon. Thanks again for the encouragement and ideas. I hope you are all having a great week!!

Wow, your friend Sherry’s home is gorgeous!! I love those two tuffets/ottomans next to the fireplace. And the chandelier in the bathroom, oh my goodness, beautiful!! I saw an episode of Devine Design a couple of years ago where Candance Olson put one in a bathroom, and I have been sold ever since.

Hi Kristen! Sherry's home is so beautiful! Is the Market open to the public? I'd go crazy in there!

My hubby had an auto body & paint shop for 25+ years... I think she should take her shower door from into a shop to have it painted. ♥

Hi Kristen, :)
I'm glad you had a safe and fun trip.

~WOW! Sherry's home is so stunning and gorgeous. I love the Master Bathroom. I have the same color scheme in ours and boy do I see some ideas I would love to "borrow". I have to wait to see if we are moving or not though. A few more weeks and the wait will be over...:)

The market is HUGE!
I would want one of everything. Love all the decorative pillows. Really pretty.

Have a great one.
Talk soon.

Kristen, I'm so glad you had a safe funfilled trip. Our market here isn't that large. But a person can get overwhelmed pretty quickly. Your friends home is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

Kristen, thank you for posting pictures of "market". I've always thought I wanted to go, but seeing these pictures tells me that I would be SO confused and indecisive. It just wouldn't work. Sherry's home is beautiful. I am really wanting a mirrored piece of furniture, but I have to get rid of something I already have first, because there is just not any room left in my home. Glad you had a good trip. Welcome back. laurie

Kristen, I loved your trip to market. And Sherry's home is beautiful. I am adding more and more touches of blue. I love it with neutrals. That's one reason I painted in neutrals. I was planning my move into blues. Baby steps ya' know.

Hi Kristen! I came across you while viewing Janices blog on tea etiquette. I adore your creativity and your sensational frames I seen on a former post. The color of your friends bathroom is exactly what color I want to paint my spare bath, could you find out from her what she used please? Name/brand? Also, please -grab a cup of tea and stop by for a visit with me later today at catherinesteacups.blogspot.com I'm all about tea, decorating, and things that are fun to chat about. I'm actually thinking of making over my own mantel, just mentioned to my Beloved last evening. ~Ciao for now... ~CC

I think I see ME in one of YOUR pictures! :) LOL. Kristen, I am so mad we didn't exchange cell phone #'s. I was at cash & carry both Sat and Sun. do you think just maybe we walked right past each other? I did see two ladies from my home town...one of them twice. What are the chances of that? Did you get some good stuff at c&c??

Hi Kristen!

Thanks for your kind words yesterday. I felt bad complaining about not being able to build our new dream house when I started thinking about so many people losing their homes. I am grateful today and was happy to get the proceed check from the sale of our 1 1/2 acre lot today. God is Good & I Trust Him!

Have a Super Weekend!
