The Granite Is Installed And My Nerves Are Calm!!

Whew! If you read my post earlier today then you will know I was a little nervous about all of the demolition going on! As I was sitting here doing my post a piece of my island flew across the floor, but it all worked out in the end! I am VERY pleased with how it turned out!! The granite really gave the kitchen an updated look! I am loving this rock! lol... The color is venetian gold btw.
Everything came out great! I was relieved when I saw that none of my tiles were broken! They had to shave the back of the granite just a hair so it would fit up against it. I was worried about that...but it was no big deal and they knew what to do. It looks perfect! You will notice I don't have the faucet installed yet...hopefully we will get it done tomorrow.

I had to do a little touch up under the granite where the Formica came down, it wasn't bad though.

This is the new sink! It's much deeper than the old one. I'll have to go tomorrow and buy the drain thingys...didn't realize they don't come with the sink!

This is my new faucet...it has a soap dispenser with it. Love it!

This is the corbel that broke during demolition. You can tell where they glued it back. There is a gap at the top so I have decided to replace all of them anyways...with something like this. What do you think?
I will do a total before and after on the kitchen for the next Met Monday. I need to take the pictures in the daylight. For now, I am off to bed. It's been a long day and I can't even think straight.

I am very pleased with how everything turned out! Thanks to the 5 of you who told me everything would be ok!! You all were right!

I'm joining Kara at Elements Interiors for Wassup Wednesday and Kim at Savvy Southern Style. Please pay these blogs a visit for some great inspiration!

Kristen,
I have the same color on my cabinets. I remember the same feeling of angst while waiting to see if I'd made the right choice.
Yours looks really nice.

Kristen - It looks wonderful! I know you are so happy to finally have it installed and to have your kitchen looking just like you want it to look.

Beautiful!! I know it must have been a very nervous thing to have them in there. Did it all work out with your backsplash? Do you have to do work on it too?

Looks fabulous...and you will LOVE granite...so easy to take care of. As for the corbels...I wouldn't put any there (you don't need it to support the granite unless they brought it out too far - i think they can come out 12" without support)...that way, no one hits their knees on the corbels and you could always fit another stool there if needed - enjoy!

LOVE how it looks!! I knew you would be happy. :) I agree with you...totally an updated look. I promise you that you won't be sorry with this color choice!! I'm laughing at you because I didn't know that about the sinky thingees either. I had to run out and go buy some. The things they DON'T tell you about granite could be a post, too!! LOL!! LOOKS GREAT, GIRL!!

It looks beautiful, Kristen! Even in night shots! : ) I think the metal corbels would look great. I love your sink and I didn't know those drain pieces didn't come with it either.

Kristen the whole kitchen is beautiful. I love the granite. It blens so beautifully with the cabinets.

You will love the deeper sink also. I love mine and my high faucets. Can put my huge canner pots under to fill and still have room.

Look forward to seeing final pictures.

Hi Kristen, Your kitchen is beautiful. We had the same granite in our previous home. My husband said he wanted granite that didn't show toast crumbs! Thank you for joining my party.
