I'm Back With Some New Etsy Store Items!!

Hey guys!! I know it's been waaaay too long...thanks for sticking around! I explained in one of my last posts that I would not be posting alot this summer. I'll tell you, I've just felt like a big ole slug! No creative juices flowing and no energy. I'll blame it on the hot weather! I posted about how hot it has been here. Well, I just thought 102 was hot...ha! We has some days that were 115 and maybe a few degrees even hotter!! We broke all kinds of records and at one point we were the hottest place in the country! Oh my! However, today it's about 89 and raining...YIPEE!!! Maybe my yard will turn green again. It's been so hard keeping everything alive this year...even the trees. I hope they live! I hope wherever you are you are having good weather! Ok, enough about the weather...lol. It just really has had an effect on my mood lately!

I decided it was high time for me to get busy on some new Etsy store items. My creativity came back (finally) and I got to work! I will be listing lots of new items every week so be sure to keep checking my store. Now that school is starting Monday I can get more done!

I just got some really cute birds in from market this week and love the way they look in the middle of the arrangements. All of my arrangements are full of beautiful flowers, berries, sticks and foliage. I am very picky when it comes to silk flowers...just letting you know it's all good quality.

Here is another smaller nesting bird arrangement in a clay pot. Perfect for fall or mixed in with everyday decor!

This little birdie has flowers painted on it...too cute!

This one is in a pretty fleur de lis metal container. It would make a great centerpiece!

This one has more of a fall flair with the pumpkins.

It's almost fall ya'll! Yipee! I sold alot of these beaded pumpkin arrangements last year and hope to have some different pumpkins soon.

Super cute scarecrow tassel! I bought several scarecrows in case you are interested. I will be making several more tassels for my store next week too.

I got busy on frames too! Love this color combination! All of the ribbons I use are very high quality too. I am very picky with ribbon too!

The flower on this one really sparkles! The brown ribbon is embroidered with beads...beautfiul!

Love the zebra and fleur de lis together. It's hard to explain the color of the ribbon behind the zebra, but it's not pink at all. It is more rusty/coral and tends to change color depending on how you look at it. For some reason this ribbon does not photograph well. It's beautful though!

This frame is perfect for the fall months. Love the rusty embroidered ribbon!

More of the embroidered beaded ribbon...love the butterfly! This frame would also look good mixed in with fall decor.

This frame would make the perfect gift for a piano player. The piano is just beautiful! I only bought a few at market.

The cross on this frame is stunning! I have a limited amount of these too.

Love the embroidered ribbon on this frame. It is very similar in color to the one I could not explain with the zebra ribbon...lol! It's a silky taffeta that changes color depending on how you look at it. It's beautiful and blends well with rust, corals and reds.

Here's one with a touch of lepard! Love these colors...great for fall and everyday.

I Just Can't Think In This Heat!!

Hello, Hello? Are my friends still out there?? I hope you will forgive me for being MIA! I really don't have a good excuse, but I will blame it on this heat! Oh My! I know alot of you are probably experiencing this heat too. I love warm weather, but 0ver 100 degrees every. single. day just drains me. I have had no energy or motivation to do anything! If you have followed my blog for the past few years then you might know that I kind of get this way in the summer time. My motivation and creativity pretty much shut down for a while. We also have alot of kids over, which is fine, but they take over my computer! lol...Anyway, with lack of motivation, kids, and this heat I have not been able to think of ANYTHING to post about. I guess I have blogger's block! Ugg! I know I will get over this and be back to normal posts soon. I will definitely have alot to show you this fall so bear with me...please =O

I will have to say that this post is really random...lol. Since I haven't been doing much I don't have alot to show you. Like I said it has been a scorcher here! I can't recall ever having temps like this this early and for this long. You cannot stand to go outside for more than a few minutes during the middle of the day. I have been watering my flowers in the morning and some of the ones on my patio at night too. Unfortunately, some of them have still burned up...darn! Not alot you can do about it though...As you can tell I have not been watering our grass. We do not have a sprinkler system and our yard it just too big to keep watered in this heat. Our neighbor, who works for a fertilizer company and does our yard, said not to worry about it right now. It is just going dormant but will turn green again after we get some good rain. I hope so! My yard has never looked this dead!!

Look across the street...you can tell my neighbor has a sprinkler system. What a difference! I would hate to see her bill though!
Sorry I'm complaining about the heat so much...there are good things about the heat too. My tomatoes are getting ripe! Yay! Although we had two plants that did not produce, we still have plenty. They are really tasty and juicy...I love slicing them up with a little salt...yum!

Our cantaloupe has just started ripening too. I was so excited to pick that first one and cut it open! However, I was a little disappointed that it wasn't super sweet. I am going to let the others bake a little longer. I don't know if that's the problem or not, I have heard there are some tricks on how to make your cantaloupe sweeter...I am going to do more research next year.

To prove I have not been very motivated, here is Sassy laying on a pile of laundry that sat in the floor for a while! I won't tell you how long... lol...She doesn't have much motivation either.

Ok, I have to admit that I have been watching alot of T.V. too. This case just has me as mad as a hornet! I just can't believe Casey Anthony was acquitted!!?? What? I was shocked when I heard the verdict. I could go on and on, but I will spare you my thoughts...(deep breath)
Remember I said I was going to start working on Chase's room? Well, here is the first piece I bought at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago. It looks really good with the green walls. I think I can still make those green walls work! lol...I have a plan in mind now, I will probably start working on his room at the end of summer or early fall. The next item to buy is the bed and bedding.

I have not been out shopping much since going to Branson, but mom and I ran into Tuesday Morning the other day and I found this cute rug. This is only the 10th or 15th rug I've had at this kitchen sink and it won't be the last...I will get sick of the black background collecting grass soon I'm sure.

Another thing I have not been doing is making items for my Etsy store. However, I am going to pick up my new shipment of silk flowers, berries, and greenery tomorrow so I'm sure that will motivate me to get some things made! I wanted to show you some tassels I recently made to hang on a lady's topiaries. She sent me fabric and I cut it into strips along with ribbon. She was very pleased with how they turned out. I thought it was a great idea to use fabric!

Well, that's all I've got for now! lol...I mentioned that I was going to be hosting another party. I am waiting on my new button to be finished. However, I think I am going to wait to start the party in September. That might work out better.

~Our Trip To Branson~

I'm back from Branson!! We actually got back on Saturday evening and I've been trying to get this post up ever since...lol. I just couldn't get my stuff together the last few days. I think going to Dallas and Branson so close together just wore me out! We had another big day yesterday too... I hope you all had a wonderful fourth! We cooked out and shot off some small fireworks. Chase always loves the Fourth of July and wants to visit every firework stand he sees! I like shooting off fireworks too, but I just hate seeing money go up in smoke! lol...

We really had a great time in Branson. There is so much to do and it's only about three hours from here so we have been several times. There are great shows, museums, restaurants, shopping, etc...and Table Rock lake is just beautiful! Of course we always visit the Branson Landing and check out the Bass Pro Shop. Kevin loves this store!

One thing my mom wanted to do is go on the Branson Belle Showboat. It was alot of fun...they had a good dinner and show. Here is Chase right before we got on the boat.

This lady was so talented...her name is Janice Martin. She plays the piano beautifully.


She also plays the violin and is the world's only aerial violinist...she was amazing!

We have visited The Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum before, but Chase wanted to go again. My mom and I took him while Kevin and my dad went golfing. Here he is in the car of the future! lol...

I admit that this museum is very interesting...This wagon is made out of toothpicks! I can't remember how many years this took to make, but it was alot! I looked closely and I really do believe this was made out of toothpicks! Unbelievable!

Wow! That's all I have to say...

Guess what this picture of Jesus on the Cross was made out of...burnt toast! After my mom read that I could see it. Unreal...

You will never guess what's in this box...dressed up fleas! I read that people in another country (cannot remember where) actually make clothes for fleas! That's just hard to believe! I think that's a believe it or NOT...lol!

We also went to see the magic show Kirby. What an awesome show that is!! He amazed all of us...There was no photography allowed in the show.

We did alot of eating on this trip...I know I gained a few pounds! One place we like to eat is called Mel's Hard luck Diner. There are a few people that were on American Idol that work there. They have wonderful burgers and malts and the servers walk around and sing to you. You can see the lady singing in the background.

Here is my dad and Kevin about to go golfing. Whew! Too hot for me!

Since Kevin is so interesting in fishing these days, we visited the trout farm. Chase enjoyed feeding them...

This is a picture of a passion flower. I took this at the nature center/trout farm. These are the most interesting flowers I have ever seen!

These are interesting too...I took this picture by the golf course. I don't know what kind of flowers/weeds they are, but they were really pretty.

I mentioned in my last post that my parents rented a condo on Table Rock lake. It was really nice! That's my fridge!

We had alot of fun...Next time we will get out on that pretty lake! We were actually going to rent a boat one day, but we were too late and they were all gone. Oh well, maybe next time. We have also visited Silver Dollar City in the past and really like it. However, we decided it was just too hot this time. Have you ever visited Branson? If so, what do you like to do there?
