Do you guys have any big plans for New Year's Eve? I will not be wearing red high heels like in this picture, that's for sure. LOL! We will probably go out to eat and come home and watch the celebrations on T.V. That's just about all we do every year. I can't believe Christmas is over! I'm always a little bummed afterwards. When I was little, I used to cry. Now I want to cry thinking of all the "stuff" I have to lug back up in the attic. lol! It's just not as much fun taking everything down. You all have a Happy New Year!!!!!

Hi Kristen,
Love the new blog do! I think my son & dil are taking us out to dinner Wed night, then we'll probably fall asleep before midnight. I don't why I usually fall asleep early on New Years Eve. ☺
Do you have to undecorate for your clients too?
Diane
I totally agree...not fun taking it down! I do the same for New Years Eve also...to many people get on the road that don't need to be so I prefer to be safe at home.
Kristen, I was a little down. It was just my sweet hubby , the doggies and me. It was a very nice Christmas. I just miss my family. Larry and I took Christmas down over the weekend. I put everything away nicely in the Christmas Totes on shelves we had built just for them in the basement. I cleaned the house. Ugh... all of the glitter. I tweaked a lot of stuff. And bought some new accessories.
It feels wonderful again.
When we were younger we used to get all dressed up for New Years Eve. Yes... high heels and mini skirts!! It was a blast. I lived in Denver at the time. Now days it's just a quite night at home. We'll have a nice dinner here. And go out to celebrate the new year when things settle down. Probably over the weekend.
Hugs, Terrie
Hi Kristen,
You're blog is looking all dressed up and so pretty. What a colorful New Year's picture. Love it! We have no plans. It's been a really low key Holidays for us this time all around.
I haven't taken one thing down yet. Call it lack of motivation. I do need to buy some good Christmas storage bins and plan on looking tommorrow. Gosh I hope it isn't too late. I really need some....
That sounds great about your new camera. I can't wait to see all your new photos. How fun!
I am really enjoying my new coffee maker. I was so surprised Alex snuck out and bought it for me.
He did good. I'm blessed.
Hope you all have an incredible New Year!
~Melissa :)
Normal to be blue after Christmas... I always am!
We stay home for New Years...with the kids...playing board games and acting silly even though the kids are no longer teenagers)
Kristen, I agree that the decorations are not near as fun to take down as they were to put up! Hope you are having a wonderful holiday season:-)
Kristen, I have felted so bummed out all day and I do every year after Christmas..I think it because of all the work that we do getting prepared for the day...I don't go out on New Years eve..too many drunks on the road for me..And I find my happiness right in my home..I still like to watch Dick Clark at Times square and give my Len a kiss at midnight..thats about as exciting as I get..love you new blog look..Happy New Years to you and your family from my home to yours dear friend...hugs and smiles Gloria
I miss Christmas too! I get all sad and depressed that the fun cookie making and shopping is over. :-(
Oh and I love your new blog look too!
Hello again, :)
Believe me I know what you mean. I have to match everything up or it doesn't feel right. I also crave balance big time in home decor'. Sigh... It's just my thing I guess.
My sisters are both my complete opposite. They just laugh and laugh at me for being so picky about things. HEHE... :)
If you have a moment could you stop by and say Hi to a new blogger.
Her name is Alisa Lucas-Brown and her blog is
"CAROLINA PANACHE". She's a designer and really nice. I know she would love your blog as well.
Her blog is on the list at the bottom of mine.
~Thanks and talk to you soon.
~Melissa :)
what kind of digital camera did you get? I'm in the market for a newer one.
Happy New year to you..don't work yourself to death...hugs ~lynne~
Hi Kristen,
Oh yes we do the same as you for New Year's Eve...dinner and watch tv. Usually hubby is asleep before midnight. I am a bit sad too that Christmas is already over. I was too busy for most of december to even enjoy it. My house is looking kinda plain now that the decorations are all put away.
Kristen, your blog looks great! I am taking down my Christmas now. My house is looking so dull (and so messy). I always miss all of the colorful Christmas decor when it's gone. Happy New Year to you too! laurie
Kristen I have found one thing that works for me.
After Christmas clean up I do in stages. Everyday I bring a few things downstairs to put away. Little by little it seems it sort of fades away and it's not a big void. I know when you are pressed for time it is good to do it all at once, but I just love letting it slip slowly away. I used to do this with my kids when they were young. I would retire one third of their toys and bring them back 6 months later, and they thought they had new ones.
Whatever works !
I like your blog -- I want to get the one with polka dots if I can figure it out.
Happy New Year to you and your family.
Connie
I feel as you do about Christmas being over..I'm finding it very hard to put things away.
For us, we havent gone out in years, normally i take the grandbabies and chill with them. This year I do plan on going out to dinner with the baldyman and then going to our sons to play WII or watch movies. no partying for us!
Hi Kristen, Your new blog looks great. Hope you have a nice and safe New Years. We will go out to dinner and go to see the twins for awhile and home. Grandkids will be here for the weekend. Talk to you soon. Sherry
Hello Kristen,
It is so nice to meet you! Your gift for decorating and designing florals is breath-taking! I love the work you have showcased. Thanks for stopping by Carolina Panache. I am rather new at blogging and Melissa has been so helpful and nice. I will add you to my blogroll and myself as a follower of your site. I would love to keep up with your posts for the New Year!
As for me, no red high heels either! We are planning a family-friendly buffet with some friends. We might watch the "big ball" drop on TV. Very low key. I'll have my tablescape post up later today. Happy New Year!
Hi Kristen...those days of going out to celebrate are long gone for my DH & I...but it was fun when we did go to a big bash somewhere... I do dread packing all of the decor away because it just never quite fits like it came out...
Happy New Year! ;-) Bo
Like your new look Kristen. This will be the first year that we have stayed at home in many many years, Usually we go somewhere in our RV for a week or so, but I just didn't want to do that or anything else really. I've been putting away Christmas for 3 days now and I think I'll finish that today. IF I don't go shopping again.:) I'm so sad when I have to take it all down too.
Love Ya,
Chris
We also will go out to dinner with our daughters. We then head back home to just relax and have dessert and wine.
I know I feel stressed out just thinking of putting all that christmas stuff away; but it's a new year and looking forward to 2009.
Happy New Year
Blossom
Kristen, Thanks so much for stopping by to help celebrate our Anniversary. It means the world. Don't work too hard lugging all that beautiful Christmas decor to the attic...:-) hugs ~lynne~
No big plans here - a small party on NYEve, and then home for rest and relaxation NYDay. Hope you have a wonderful 09 Kristen! Happy New Year~!
Hello Kristen...
Just wanted to stop by with my very best wishes for the coming New Year....May the Lord bless you & yours with love, joy, peace & good health!!!
I have really enjoyed your blog...I've sat "many a time" in total awe of your beautiful home and your many talents!!! Such "pretty pleasures", my friend....Thank you!!!
Warmest wishes...
Chari
Hey Kristen - I am slowly making the rounds visiting everyone after Christmas - I was very selfish with my time over the holidays - spending time with Meghan since she was home. She won't go back to school until the 13th.
We don't have any plans for New Year's. We never do - stay home and watch all the festivities on TV - much safer and warmer!!
Hope you and your family have a safe, Happy New Year's ~
Im feeling your pain! I went up and down so many times going to the attic. I wont have to exercise for a while...ok maybe I need to still but it was a good workout. Dont you just love that clean crisp feel of your home after Christmas. Happy New Year to ya~
Kristen,
Happy New Year! We had a quiet evening playing games, having snacks and watching the ball drop. We were supposed to go to visit overnight with friends but the kids ended up sick. Maybe next year! It was still a really nice night though.
I hear you on the decorations. Packing the boxes up and bringing them down the basement is something I dread as well. Mine are already packed up and put away safely until next year. I had so much time at home with sick kids, I decided to do it early this year.
Michelle
Hi Kristen, It has been such a pleasure getting to know you this year! You have a beautiful home and I enjoy your blog so much!
Happy New year and many blessings to you in 2009, Nancy
Kristen, What have you been up to?? How are you settling into the new year?? Things are good here. I have just been missing you!!
Hugs, Terrie
