A Fun Halloween

We had a lot of fun tonight! Chase was supposed to be a knight but instead chose his storm trooper costume from last year. The streets were loaded with trick or treaters. Sassy got so much attention! We gave out at least 500 pieces of candy and still ran out. The kids loved the spider. He He. What a night!

Thank you Santamaker for this idea!! It was a hit!!

The eyes flashed on this pumkin

I said I would show you the tops of my kitchen cabinets but I got caught up in Halloween. Look for those on my next post! I hope you all had a fun night! I know my music doesn't match my post but I was in the mood for some 80's love songs.

Happy Halloween! (he he he he he)

"Mommy, Look at the cute pumpkin on the door!"

"EEk!!! A scary spider and his eyes are flashing!!! Mommy I wanna go home!!!"

I bet you guys didn't think I would do such a thing!! (scare innocent little kids) he he he he he! It's all in good fun! This spider drops down when someone comes to the door. It's not really that scary , the kids get a kick out of it! I also have a few spooky eyes that I put in the bushes. Halloween is so much fun!!!!

Friendship Award

Thanks for the award Lynette! at http://lynetteslam.blogspot.com/ I'm glad to call you my friend!

Now for the questions......Do you have the same friends since childhood?

Yes, some of them, most from Jr. High and High School. It's funny because I've recently connected with several of my friends through Facebook. That's my newest computer addiction.

What do you value most about your friends?

Honesty and time.

Are your friends sounding boards?

If it means do I call them to vent the answer is yes. Sometimes my 2 best friends call just to gripe and complain and I do the same to them!!

What is your favorite activity to share with your friends?

Going to eat, talking on the phone, shopping together, swimming, blogging with you guys! You are all my friends. That's more than one activity, Oops.

Thanks again Lynette.

The 4 friends I give this award to are.....

Terrie at http://terriedj.blogspot.com/ We are both silk designers and have lots in common.

Lynne at http://lynnesgiftsfromtheheart.blogspot.com/ I met her on RMS. Love her curtains ;)

Donna at http://adventureswithtassie.blogspot.com/ she already has this award but I met her in my home town and she's a real sweet person!

Melissa Miller..... She doesn't have a blog but she always leaves such nice comments and we have chatted through e-mail. She's really sweet too!

Thank you all for visiting my blog! I really appreciate it.

Decorating Bookcases

Decorating bookcases can be tricky (at least for me). I have several flanking my T.V. and they have evolved over the last 4 yrs. I can't tell you how many times I've changed them. They are either crammed or sparse! I definitly have more decorative accessories than books. The one thing I've learned is to create different levels, this adds interest. I think I'll leave these alone for a while. (for now;)

Is it hard for you to decorate bookcases? I know I probably need more books and less stuff! Later on in the week I'll show you the tops of my kitchen cabinets. Those were hard too!

More Decorating

Here are a few pictures of my friend Sherry's house. I made the arrangement in the dining room and in the bedroom, they are both done in the acrylic water. They just moved in about a month ago, so I would say she's made alot of progress but still is working on the finishing touches. More pics to come in a later post.

I love this pillow, she got it at Homegoods.
Wow!
This is my bedroom! (when I'm here)

She had the shower curtain made. I love it!

Isn't this cute? I love the clothes pins on the shelf. I thought this might give some of you an idea.

Sherry made this. She is very creative! Another great idea!

She is a great decorator, I hope you enjoyed peeking into her house! Next week I'm going to show you a few more things around my house and I will soon have a blog give away!! Also I start decorating houses for christmas in a few weeks(can you believe it!) so I hope to have some pictures. So keep stopping by, I enjoy meeting you guys! I've made several new friends on here and hope to meet more.

I'm Back and I have an award and some new pics!

Hey Guys! I just got back from Dallas and I have an award from Chari at http://www.happytodesign.blogspot.com/! What a sweetie! I have to list 6 things I value and 6 things I don't so here they are.......

The 6 things I value:

1. God. He created everything.
2. Family and Friends. Where would I be without them?
3.Health. My brother is a diabetic and has to take 3 or 4 shots a day. I really feel for him.
4. Home, car, furnishings. I am thankful for what I have.
5. My animals. Oh how I love Sassy and Coco!
6. Food. I love to eat! (especially chocolate)
6 things I don't value:

1. Dirty house. I hate to clean but I also hate dirt and dog hair floating around.
2.Being stuck up
3. Being mean
4. Thieves
5. Getting too drunk and acting stupid
6. Kevin's giant T.V. That takes up half of the room.

The 6 peeps I give this award to are.........

I just checked out Jamie’s blog and it looks really cute! You guys should pay her a visit!

Thanks again Chari for the award!

.
This is the twin's room.

After looking at the pics on here we decided to add trim to the bottom of the cornice board. The curtains look more cream in the pic than they really are, when I take a picture of the whole room finished it will all come together.

Isn't it going to be cute!!
Here's a few more pics of Lisa's house

I painted these abstract tulips a few years ago for her.

This is her hollywood bathroom.

Later on this week, I will be posting some pics of Sherry's house, it's not done yet either but oh is it beautiful!

Tropical Master Bedroom with my new chair(Finally)

This is my master bedroom with my new chair! The upholsterer had it almost a year! He's a great guy who I really like and he stays really busy so I couldn't get mad. (wanted to though) Talk about getting impatient Lynette!! He He.Finally he called the other day and joked and said he had my" antique "chair ready. (get it? because he had it so long) ;) Anyway, I was glad I didn't bug him to much because he ended up not charging me anything! He felt bad, so I guess it paid off to be patient. I did the chair in a solid green since the bedding is so busy. This room is only14x14 so what you see is the WHOLE room.

It's colorful just like the rest of the house!

I'll be in Dallas until monday, I'm going to a baby or babies shower(the twins) ,we will hopefully hang the cornice board and curtains. Maybe I'll have some pics to show you. I'll talk to you guys soon!! I've gotta pack and I have nothing to wear!!!

Painting for fun

Hi Friends! These are a few things I've painted recently. I have painted furniture for a few people in the past and hope to do a little more now that I'm off work. I don't enjoy painting as much as I like doing floral design and crafts. For some reason I just want to hurry and get it done. It always feels good when I finish a piece! That's the fun part!

I took an oil painting class a few years ago. I already knew a little bit about it, but not much. In high school art was my favorite subject. I kind of quit painting until recently. In this painting I set up some apples and shined a light on them , this is what I saw.

I painted these designs around my light fixtures a few months ago. It's a pretty simple design and you really don't notice it unless you look up. It sure did hurt my neck doing it though!

This is the cornice board I painted today. Of course this is the before picture.

Here it is finished! This is going in a twin's room (boy and girl) The walls are green, like in the polk a dot. The girl's side is pinks, greens and a little yellow done in butterflys. The boy's side is in aqua, royal blue and greens done in fish. This cornice board has all the colors. The curtains that hang will be white silk with a green band on the bottom. This room is going to be soooooo cute. I've seen the bedding samples and both are adorable! My former bosses daughter(both are friends) is the one having the twins. They designed the room. Don't look at that dirty garage floor and I didn't have newspaper! He He.

This is a table I painted about a month ago. I wish I had a before pic. It was in BAD shape, I bought it for $1. I couldn't believe how cheap it was even though it was in bad condition. I played around with it for a while and this is what I came up with.

Thanks for visiting me!!

Special Family

This is a picture of my ma-maw, me and my mom that was taken today . They are both very special to me.

This week we will get back to decorating!! I painted a design around my light fixtures in my kitchen I would like to show you. I am also painting a cornice board for a friend's baby's room. (twin boy and girl) in polkadots.

A Fun Saturday!

I'm sure you are tired of pictures of my house because I am. I wanted to share my Saturday with you. Chase had a soccer game and then we were off to the fall festival. I met a fellow blogger there too. Sqawmamma(Donna) from Adventures with Tassie was at the fall festival! Her and her husband are retired and travel. She always leaves me such nice comments and when I went to visit her site I realized she was in the next town over! Small World! It was great meeting her and her daughter and her husband. They were all so nice!!

Here's chase playing soccer, Sometimes you just want to get out there and kick it for them!! It's right under their feet and they just can't seem to kick it, but it's so much fun watching them play!

Here is a picuure of the fall festival, there were alot of people there!

This is me and Donna! She is such a fun lady, I could tell right away she had a great personality. Mmmm.......That barbeque sandwich is good and so is that hair in my mouth!

Here is Chase on a ride.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing a fun Saturday with me!
