Getting My Blog Back In Shape...And Our Newest Project...

Hey Guys! The last days of summer are upon us! School starts Thursday! I love summer, but it's been so hot here you don't want to do anything and I want my blogging room back! LOL...Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to have a room where kids can come over and play games and computers, especially when it's this hot outside. I have also taken some kids swimming and to the waterpark to stay cool and get out of the house for a while. We've had fun! I think I need a schedule though. I am not getting up until around 10:00 most days, and by the time I water my flowers and get a shower... it's noon! Oh My! Well, it's time I get it together and get on the ball! My blog has suffered this summer and I've got to get it back in shape! I will be posting more often for sure...I always have more to show you in the fall. I have so many things to make for my Etsy store too...I will be listing some new items tonight. Even though it's still scorching here...I'm ready to get motivated again! I will also start working part time at the home furnishing store again... Yay! I will show you everything I make there. Thanks for sticking around over the summer months...

Our newest project... My hubby has been wanting a boat for YEARS! Every summer he complains that we have nothing to do as a family on the weekends...if we only had a boat. Well, since a big nice ski boat or yaht was out of the question, he bought a small sailboat...it's a 1959 Lido, but in really good condition. The only problem, was the bottom needed painting and the trailer needed some work and definetly some paint, you will see below... It's a pretty little boat...love the aqua color. We took it out last week and had alot of fun. Hubby still needs to practice on working those sails though...oh, and did you know you need wind for a sailboat? lol... that's why we put a little motor on the back. Hehehe. I painted the bottom of the boat with grip paint...now we won't slip around and it looks alot better. I also put some stain on that middle wood piece.

This is the trailer before...it's awful!

Here it is after hubby replaced some things and gave it a coat of paint. The only thing left is to put carpet on the boards...he will probably do that tonight. We are planning on going to the lake on Wed.

I admit...I had mixed emotions about buying this boat, but knew how much hubby wanted it. Although we didn't pay alot of money for it...I just kept thinking of things I could buy for the house! LOL!

I hope you will check my store tonight...I will be listing several items, including arrangements and rooster tassels.

Gotta get this blog going again!! Thanks for stopping by!

Edited to add Aug. 17...things got busy yesterday and I didn't get everything listed in my store, if all goes well, I should have several more items listed tonight. I apologize for the delay...

Kids here in B.C. don't go back to school until after the Labour Day weekend. Mine are grown thankfully so I don't have to get them ready for school.
They say (whomever they are) that a boat is a hole in water that you throw money in. Lol. That being said you should see what my husband spends on our cabin while the house sits here sad and lonely.

Hi sweet girl! I am so happy to see that you are back! I had to laugh at that pic of Chase and his friends...are they all alike;)? It looks like my son and his friends...whan they're inside they are playing video games and computer games! I love the soldiers on the desk! Mine used to play with those for hours!

I am so jealous of your sailboat...it is such a wonderful thing to do! I love to sail! We used to go almost eveyday when I was younger!

I am looking forwaard to see all of your goodies...I will check it out tonight! Welcome back!

Enjoy!
Cathy

I'm our last week of summer vacation too. I'm sad for it to be over so soon, but then again, it'll be nice to have the house all to myself during the week again. I'm tired of all the messes!

Pretty boat Kristen! I love that color. I understand about the summer blogging blahs. It hasd been too hot to move much. Ugh.

I'll be checking out your Etsy store. I could use another rooster tassel form sure. That sounds great. You can email me photos before you list them so I can buy one directly if you would like.
What else are you making?

PS I'm having trouble loading your blog background. It has a small white box saying this video image will not load. Hmmm... Just thought you might want to know.

I know, Kristen, but sometimes the hubby's need to get something, too! ; ) And it is a cute little boat! Looking forward to seeing your new listings.

I was always excited when school got out and excited when it started again. I know I'm much better on a schedule and as much as I loved those slow start days...I never felt caught up with anything!

The boat is great and will be wonderful family fun!

Sleeping in til 10? LOL Oh, honey, you've got it made! What a glorious time to spend with your boys!
Congratulations on the boat and I love the color you painted it!
Now it's time to get on track. Well, maybe not...I'm olden, no kids at home and I'm still off track! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Your family is going to have so much fun with your new boat. Think of the memories that you'll make together! I'll bet you'll not want to live without a boat once you've spent some time on the water. It's good to see you blogging again!

How exciting that you have a boat! My hubby will be so jealous. He has a fishing boat that he shares with his buddies, but he would love it if I went with him. Not in his boat!!! Can't wait to see more of you this Fall!

Kim

I know you will enjoy the boat ~ especially with your son. Like you though, I'd be thinking about decor for the house. :-) Anxious to see what you have in your shop!
