Traditional Christmas

Sherry and I worked on two houses today decorating mantles, stairs, and trees. I will show you some of what we did today and the rest very soon. We have been doing these two houses for several years and have kept with the traditional theme in both. These two ladies keep their garlands in excellent condition so all we have to do is hang them and tweak. We do add or change out things here and there, but over all they stay in excellent shape.

The garland just makes this beautiful staircase stand out! It is full of pretty ribbons and berries.

There is a mantle in the kitchen that we decorate with berries and fruit.

I've always loved this mantle...

This is the other side of the mantle in the living room. This garland is full of ribbon, holly and poinsettias.

We started the second house tonight...it actually belongs to a good friend of mine. When we first started decorating her house she gave us free reign to do what we wanted! As you can see we went all out with this mantle.

More of this house coming soon...so stay tuned.

Happy decorating!!

That staircase looks amazing, Kristen! I think the swagging part is where I have my problem. Good thing I don't have a staircase to do anymore! : ) I could see a lot of your garlands being used on top of kitchen cabinets though. Now that is something I will need to do this year since the kitchen is open to the rest of the rooms.

I love your work! I hope I have time to decorate my mantle this year. Fortunately for us - we don't have a staircase but the ones you have shown are just gorgeous. Can't wait to see more.

Kristen, I love that you are showing us all of these homes you get to do, such inspiration! I also love that you showed some traditional today! I do traditional downstairs and then whimsical upstairs (where my girls areas are!). I've loved seeing both schemes, thank you!

Kristen,
The staircase looks beautiful! Now I think I may add lights to my garland this year! Did you add the lights or were they already attached to the garland? Great job!

I just want to say that they all are just absolutly beautiful. Love the staircase and the banister with the ribbon. Sure do wish I had an open stair way like that to decorate but alas we are just one story.

I do have a matel though .

BEEE-YOU-TEEE-FULLLL, Kristen !! The staircase looks so *grand* dressed up in such lush garland. You did an incredible job, for sure. And, I love the beefy mantle you created in your friend's house. Oh, how I'd love to have a mantle in the kitchen, too. I know the homeowners are thrilled with your hard work and fabulous talent!!

Did you use Garland Grabbers to hang the garland on the staircase? Thanks!
