Laboring On Labor Day!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Labor Day weekend! We have been having fun with family from Kentucky. We shopped most of the day yesterday...there are lots of good sales right now!

I mentioned a while back that I was redoing Chase's room. Well, I have finally started on it! We bought the mattress, bedding, sheets, and desk yesterday. I think I might finally have a plan in mind, maybe...lol. Chase really likes it so far...he is glad to have a bigger bed. We are doing the rock and roll music theme. Anyway, this is the desk I purchased at Home Depot. Look at all of the pieces...about a million of them! Poor hubby will have to work on it all day tomorrow...on Labor Day! Chase and I might help a little...lol.

It will hopefully look somewhat like this when it's complete! It's going to fit perfectly on one of his walls. We really liked it because it has alot of storage and it was on sale!!

As you can see I'm just getting started on the room...here is the plan:

I am planning on doing some kind of collage with records behind the picture to act as a headboard...we will see how that turns out! I am going to bring out some of the colors in the picture in the pillows. I found the black and orange pillow on clearance at Wal-mart. I am looking for fabric to make a window treatment out of and whatever I use on the window I will probably use in a pillow on the bed too. I found the black guitar at Hobby Lobby...it might stay there and it might not! We are going to keep the dark red ladder shelf and add some music accents to it. I will also look for a small contemporary table and lamp to go on the left side of his bed. That is the plan for now! There are other walls that I am going to address later on. Oh, and I kept the green walls as you can see. I think everything will tie together when the room is done...I hope. I am really liking the green and black together.

Look what I just found!! I ordered a yard of it off of Ebay to make a pillow out of. It has all the colors.

Here is Chase at Rock Band Camp this summer. He is really into music right now, so I think we are going in the right direction with his room.

And...I wanted to show you a rooster arrangement I listed in my store tonight. It is a one of a kind...love the roo!

Have a wonderful Labor Day! I hope you are going to take it easy...it looks like I will be helping to put together a million piece desk! lol...

He must be so excited to have his room redone, Kristen! I think everything will fall into place as you move along each phase. The desk will look great.

I updated my teenage sons room earlier this year. I was suprised that he had so much to say about what and how he wanted it, down to the smallest details. I know Chase will love it when it is all down.

Bet his room looks great when you're finished it. Can't wait to see. Love all your Fall items, I'm starting to itch to get my decor stuff out, the mornings are cooling down here finally but we're still forecast for 90's this week.

If you need a custom rug for his new room...we could do a music note inlay in the center of the rug.
