Share Your Creations Party #1

Welcome to the first Share Your Creations Party! I'm excited about this one and I hope you will join in the fun!

Share Your Creations

This morning I did a post showing some of my fall finds from Hobby Lobby. I mentioned that I am ready to decorate and I am going to attempt to do an oil painting of fall trees over the mantle. I do have a little bit of a background in art, but have not painted or drawn anything in a LONG TIME! I loved art when I was in Jr. High and High school. I also took art for a year in college. About 8 years ago, before we moved into this house, Kevin and I took an oil painting class together. I had planned on doing all of my own artwork for the house! That didn't happen and I ended up buying it! Ha! However, I think I might be ready to give it a try again. After taking the oil painting class, I did end up painting these apples for my kitchen. I set up a display of real apples and this is what I came up with...

When I was in class I painted this landscape. I think it still could use some work...then maybe I will frame it.

I painted the parrot in high school...it's done in water color. I actually painted this off of a photo of my pet lilac crowned amazon parrot, Peppy. He was such a funny bird!

LOL! I found this picture of me in high school...sorry it's blury. I took picture of a picture. I think I was about 16 or 17 in this photo. This was a competion and the theme was World Peace. I was in several competions and I think I won an honorable mention in this one.

Well, those are some of my creations! I think I'm in the mood to paint again!

I am looking forward to seeing what you create!

You can link any creations that you would like to share. It can be items, a room you have decorated, a piece of furniture you have painted, jewelry, photography, recipes...the list goes on and on. If you are sharing an item you have created for your Etsy Store you are welcome to add your link!

I would appreciate a link back to my blog so others can find the party! Other than that, there are no more rules! Have fun with it!

your paintings are beautiful! You should definitely give it a shot again. My MIL paints also and has some beautiful art in her home...I asked my hubby to mention to her a rooster painting for a christmas present :)
I wish I could paint...I can't even draw LOL
My son entered his first 2 years ago and it was hung in the local museum here and won 1st place and last year was hanging in a local restaraunt. (He has talent but doesn't draw much anymore)

Oh I received my tassel the other day, thank you so much!!

Wowzers girl - you are super-talented! I knew you had a knack for decorating and flower arranging, but painting is something new. You should add those to your Etsy store as well. I'm totally serious - they'll fly! I also loved your previous post with tips on decorating. I bookmarked it for future reference. Great party - thanks for hosting!
xoxo,
Kim

Hi Kristen,
You did a great job on the apples. Great highlights and they look real.
I should get back to painting but there are so many things to do in life. I'm trying to cram in all in but can't. lol
