The Dining Room Dressed For Fall

I hope you are all having a wonderful Friday afternoon! The sun is shining here and it's a beautiful day. I finally went out and pulled some weeds! I haven't been to good about that lately =0 too busy decorating! I wanted to show you my fallish dining room...and I didn't even have to change the dishes in the cabinet! Woohoo! They stay in there all year around except for Christmas. No, we have never even eaten off of them...as my hubby says "What good are they?" lol...

Ok, I know what you are thinking already...this room needs a rug! Yes it does and that will be my next big purchase. Just haven't found anything I love yet that's not too expensive. I'm sure I will find one someday...

As you probably know, I made the arrangement on the table. First, I made it low, but it just didn't look right to me, besides the candle holders were way too tall and I didn't want to have to go buy anymore. Also, I think I'm just used to something big and tall there.

Here it is at dusk with the candles lit. (I added this pic after I had already done this post so it won't click to enlarge)

I used all kinds of fall berries, flowers, sticks and wheat in the arrangement and added beaded pumpkins down the center of the table.

When I put the candles on the candle holders they looked too plain, so I dressed them up with some ribbon and metal bird pieces that I happen to already have! I also added some fall leaves, greenery and berries around the base of the candles.

I had to have a tassel, so I made myself one using fall ribbons. I have a scarecrow tassel that I am using in the kitchen.

I dressed up this floor candleholder with the same ribbon I used on the tassel, a sunflower and greenery.

Here are the dishes that have never been used...lol. They sure do look purdy!!

The table runner came from T.J. Maxx. I love it! I brought home three before I finally found this one!

Well, that's the dining room all dressed up for fall! For a tour of the living room click here.
Have a great weekend!!

Very pretty. A
nd I love the dishes. I love doing different dishes for different seasons and just this afternoon stopped into the local Dollar Tree. They had some that were just so pretty with fall leaves. Matching mugs and glasses. I do believe that come Wednesday when I go to town. I may just add those fall ones to my cupboard.Figure I can get by with just service for 4 now we have nop one at home.

Simply beautiful! You are a girl after my heart with your lovely flower arrangement. LOL I totally understand making something floral and then adding to it to make it bigger, taller, more, etc. Thats why I love maiming florals. I love all your small details and touches, like the florals at the base of the candles, etc. I laugh at your husband...mine says the same about most of my dishes too. Of course when I say he has tools he has never used - well thats different. haha Blessings, Barb

What a beautiful dining room and the arrangement is perfect (especially with the candlesticks). I have a thing for pineapples so I love those chairs. I like decorative plates for my china cabinets but I prefer to eat off of solid so yes, we need both! Why not!?
