Share Your Creations Party # 40!

Welcome to Share Your Creations Party #40! I can't believe we are on #40...Wow! It seems like I just started this party! Time is flying by. I hope you will link up and join in the fun this week. There were alot of great links last week! I always enjoy looking through all of them. This week there were some wonderful recipes! You should check them out.

On with the features...

Wouldn't this be a great Fourth Of July Dessert? Visit Annie's Home for the recipe.

I love the color of this secretary! Visit Deep In The Heart Of Arkansas for the before pics.

What a fun idea to have a candy bar at a wedding or party. Yum! Visit Take Six for more yummy pics.

For my creation I thought I would show you my no sew table runner. It is made from a piece of material I had left over from my kitchen curtain. All I did was hem the edges with fabric glue and added the fringe on the ends. Simple! I showed you the cage with the bird and florals a while back, although it has changed a little since then.

I also added a tray with a bird. I have had the tray in my bathroom for several years but decided to bring it in the dining room for something different.

What did you create?
You can link an item you created, a room you have decorated, a piece of furniture you have painted, a vignette, a recipe and the list goes on and on...
Please add a link back to my blog so others can find the party.

I just love these flower pot cupcakes! They are so cute and I'm sure delicious. Visit Cozy Home Scenes for the tutorial and recipe.
I am longing for the beach so I just had to feature this pretty nautical tablescape by Tablescapes By Diane.
What a great idea to decorate a graduation cap! Visit An Italian Irish Blessing for the supply list. Too cute!

For my creation I thought I would show you my new framed metal flowers. I worked on this project all night...I know it looks simple doesn't it? Ha! Thank goodness I had the gold piece above it to cover up the million holes in the wall!

More pics to come...

What did you create?

You can link any item you have made, a room you have decorated, a piece of furniture you have painted, a recipe and the list goes on and on...

New Etsy Store Arrangements

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all have a wonderful day planned. I'm heading over to my friend's house later on to lay out in her beautiful pool today. It's going to be nice and hot! We thought it would be nice to enjoy one of our last days without kids since they will be out of school on Thursday. I still can't believe it's almost summer! I'm ready though...we have two trips planned for June I'll tell you about soon.

Yesterday I thought I would get busy and make some arrangements for my Etsy store. I will also be listing frames over the next few days too.

This arrangement reminds me of summer. Love the ceramic watering can.

This birdhouse container is so cute!

This arrangement could be used all year.
 For the rooster lovers!
This arrangement would make a beautiful centerpiece.
This gerbera daisy topiary is already sold, but I'm hoping to make more next week. I'm all out of the daisies...

Click HERE to visit my store.

Have a wonderful day!!

Tiki The Chinchilla

In my last post I showed you a sneak peek of my new pet. Well, Sassy is still wondering what it is! His name is Tiki and he is a chinchilla. Isn't he cute? As you probably know I love animals and have two cats, a dog, and two turtles. When my friend asked me if I wanted to take Tiki I couldn't say no! Although Kevin wasn't too thrilled, but he likes him now. Anyway, he is so cute and the softest thing I've ever felt!

My friend gave me some information on chinchillas before I took him. They are native to the Andes Mountains in South America and live in high altitudes. They need to stay cool at all times and can easily overheat due to having so much hair. In fact, they have 60 to 80 hairs per follicle! That's why they are so soft. They also need plenty of things to chew on such as wooden sticks and pumice stones because their teeth never stop growing. They are also nocturnal...good thing he stays in Chase's room. Ha! He can sleep through anything. They cannot get wet or they could get a fungus or their hair could fall out. If they do get wet they must be dried immediately. They need to take a dust bath at least twice a week. Yes, a dust bath...weird huh? The dust is made out of ground pumice and helps keep their coat healthy. Tiki loves his dust bath! I have a picture below...

They are very interesting creatures and look like something in between a rabbit, hamster, and squirrel. My dad said he looks like a giant rat! LOL...

He doesn't look like a rat...he's so cute! He looks more like a rabbit in this pic.

Here he is eating an apple with his little hands. I love how he holds it! He's not supposed to have alot of fruit, but a little bit is ok.

Here he is in his dust bath. It was hard to get a good pic because he is constantly rolling around in it. It is the funniest thing to watch!

Well, that's my new critter! Although he is not as cuddly as a dog or cat, he's still alot of fun to play with. He acts a little more like a rabbit or hamster. He has really quick movements.

Hope you enjoyed the pics! Have you ever pet a chinchilla and felt their soft coat? Or...do you have a chinchilla?  If you do, I would love to hear about yours.

Oh, and yes I let my animals on the furniture...even a chinchilla. =0

Have a great day!

Share Your Creations Party #38

Well Hello! Welcome to Share Your Creations party #38! I hope you will link up and join in the fun!

I'm sorry I haven't done a post since last week's party. Things have been a little crazy since I got back into town and I haven't done anything creative. I finally got things back in order around the house so I feel like I'm getting caught up again. I'll tell you...when the wife's away, the boys will play! lol...

I wanted to feature a few links from last week's party. I wasn't able to figure out how to post them from my friend's computer. I'm not computer savvy like that!

Brooke from Creative Country Mom shared her beautiful garden.

I am so making this! Visit The Kitchen Is My Playground for the recipe and tutorial.

This pretty Mother's Day card was made by Sari at Splash Cards.

Maria Elena shares her beautiful home at Our Home Away From Home. What a pretty entryway!

Great stuff! Keep it coming...

For my creation I thought I would share this tablescape I recently put together using my birdhouse from last
year. I did a spring tablescape last year that looked very similar to this one. However, the napkins are new.  I found them at Pier 1 Imports the other day.

Besides getting things back in order, here is something else I've been preoccupied with lately...

Do you know what it is? Here is a hint...He is very soft! I'll post pics soon.

 What did you create?

You can link any item you created, any room you have decorated, a piece of furniture you have painted, a recipe, and the list goes on and on...

Please add a link back to my blog so others can find the party.

Add your link...

Share Your Creations Party # 37

Welcome to Share Your Creations Party #37. I hope you will link up and join in the fun!

Share Your Creations
This week I am unable to post the features because I am in Dallas and have no idea how to do that from my friend's computer. I should have been more on top of things and had this post ready to go before I left on Sunday! I'll know better next time. Most of you know I travel to Dallas often to visit my friend Sherry. We go to market and also hit alot of the stores we don't have in my little town. Today we went to Stein Mart, Ross, and Tuesday Morning. I think we spent almost three hours in Stein Mart! I only ended up with a dress and some earrings. I think I tried on everything in the store!  We have a big shopping day planned tomorrow including a trip to IKEA. I've never been to one but have been wanting to go for a long time. I hear they carry just about everything there. We will be heading back on Friday. I'm sure I will be shopped out by then.

Since I am not home to share any of my creations I thought I would share Sherry's creations. I have shared pictures of her house before and since my last post was on bookcases I thought I would share hers. They are so pretty and full of interest! After seeing them I think I will go back and change mine. =0
I think my favorite thing in this bookcase is the red branch. It adds so much interest. I must add a red branch to my bookcases.

This one is beautiful too. So many beautiful items...
She uses alot of the battery operated candles to create a warm glow. I took these pictures with my IPhone so they appear yellow.

And yet another beautiful display...I spy a mirrored birdcage like mine!

What did you create? You can share any item you have created, a piece of furniture you have painted, a vignette, an outdoor space, a room you have decorated, a recipe...and the list goes on and on...Please add a link back to my blog so others can join the party.

Also, I have taken everything out of my Etsy store but will add my items back on Friday. I will also be making more items soon. Have a great rest of the week!

Accessorized Bookcases

Happy Saturday! I hope you are all having a wonderful day today! It sure is warm here in Arkansas. I'm going to get outside in a little while and do some yard work. There is always something to do at this time of the year.

I have been meaning to show you my bookcases since I reworked them. Actually, they are always a work in progress. As you can see I have quite a few to play with. When we built the house the bookcases were an upgrade..of course! However, it was an upgrade I just had to have.

As you can see I use a little bit of everything in my bookcases. I try to create interest with different shapes, color, textures and movement.

One thing I learned in a decorating class was to create different levels to add interest and movement. This could be done when doing a vignette on a table or mantle too. When everything is the same level it is not as interesting.

I am really into butterflies lately. I found two of the metal butterfly pictures in Dallas and love them. I also added a touch of blue with the ceramic jar I found at Hobby Lobby.

I found this painting at an antique mall the other day for $20! It says hand painted by Robert Grace on the back. Even if it's a print it was worth it...I love it!
The mirrored birdcage is one of my favorite accessories. There is another touch of the blue in the pot.

Here is the "B" I painted that I showed you the other day. I found the glass ball (bubble)with sand and shells at T.J. Maxx. Isn't it cool? It kind of reminds me of a snow globe.

The tray in the back used to be a table before it got knocked over by Sugar the fat cat! I almost threw it away , but then it hit me to take the legs off and make it into a tray.

I guess I will leave these bookcases alone for a little while...it's always fun changing them up. Although, one change calls for another!

Have a great day!
