~Flaunt Your Red Party!~

Welcome to the first ever "Sunday Favorites" hosted by Chari at http://happytodesign.blogspot.com/. What a great idea to show some of our favorite posts from the past! She is such a wonderful lady, please pay her a visit for the list of participants.
This was one of my favorite posts because it "Flaunts" all of my red! lol.... If you have been reading my blog for a while then you know how much I love red. I have tried to figure out why I like it so much, it symbolizes love, passion, fire and I've heard it can make you hungry. Hmmmm......It is also an attention getter. When you walk into a room with lots of red it defintly shouts out "Hey! Look at Me!" All I know is that I've gotta have my red! I have also noticed that color (not just red) really affects my moods. I am happiest when I am in a bright room. Also, I have been happier since the sun is shining more and all the color is popping out everywhere. It just makes me want to :) Now, on with the post.....

**************************************************************************************

Hi Everyone! It's time for the flaunt your red party and I have plenty of it :) lol! This fun party is hosted by Nancy at http://southernlady-nancy.blogspot.com/. Her blog is a Must Visit. She has so many great ideas and sells beautiful tassels in her Etsy Store. I've been visiting her blog for a long time now and am always excited to see what she is up to. Pay her a visit!

Now for all my red.....Some of you have seen lots of pictures of my house already. Pretty soon I won't have anything to show you! My house is only 2100 sq. feet, which is fine for us, but I don't have tons of space to work with. As you can see I love red, maybe I have a little too much, but it just makes me feel happy! I've had the sofas since we moved in over 4 yrs. ago and I'm not tired of them yet. I might be in a few years, but they are still in great shape and fit in perfectly with all the decor.

I bought the runner at J.C. pennies and added the fringe on the ends to dress it up.

I ordered these pictures at Dallas Market when we first moved in, they were supposed to go on the sides of the china cabinet, but looked better here. Some of you probably remember Puddin from RMS. She is the one who suggested these red pillows.

Yip! They're all silk! I just have to dust them and they never die. lol!

This picture hangs in the hallway. It was a gift from my aunt Pat. I'm dying to show you some of her decorating. She decorated the offices at the family food business and they are gorgeous. I'll post some pictures sometime.

This is the hall bathroom done in a tropical theme with monkeys and what you see is pretty much it! See my little brass monkey looking in the mirror.lol! This rug is in my entryway. I know it's a little kitcheny(if that's a word) but it really is pretty when you walk in the door, the fruit doesn't scream out at you. all of my rugs have some black in them, I think they really ground the room. Athough, Sassy's white hair does stand out on them. lol

I posted this for Kim at http://kimsdomesticbliss.blogspot.com/ after all it is red! She just started a blog not to long ago and is really sweet. I could not find anymore of the crocodile paper like I used on Mellissa's and Barb's, so I used striped red tone on tone fabric. These will sell in my Etsy store for $25 plus shipping. Leave me a message if you would like one and I would be glad to customize it for you. I have more frames on some of my previous posts if you would like to see them.

****************************************************************************************

Update on outside projects: Covered patio is stained, furniture painted, added new cushions, planted flowers, New patio and firepit built. Dirt everywhere! (including inside the house)Ugggg....
Things yet to do: Add stepping stones out to new patio, find trees, find outdoor furniture, add landscaping around patio, finish planting flowers in front yard. Hope the budget lasts for all of this!
Have a great week!!!

New Frames and READY for Spring!!

Hi guys! I drug out the old camera since my charger has not yet arrived. It took a while to get some decent pics, but I was determined! Since my tooth pain has subsided I have been busy making more frames. I have also had several orders here in my hometown. I have many more in the making, but just wanted to show you a few I just completed. I am now not only doing the frames with the pictures inside, but also just the frame with the bow and rhinestones at the top. You can put your own pictures in these. I'm having so much fun playing around with these, I practically live at the craft stores. Alot of you have given me some great ideas, keep them coming, I appreciate your suggestions! This first frame would be a perfect gift for a friend and must say it's one of my favs! I will be making more similar to this one.

See how pretty it looks in a setting.

This picture doesn't do this justice. That cross really sparkles! For some reason the background looks orangy, it'r really the same color at the ribbon.

You can put your own picture in this one. I love the Fleur de lis!

This one turned out really elegant. Mom and I both love butterflies, and yes, that's me in the picture. I was dressed as a pirate wench for a party. Sassy looked adorable as Snow White!

Looks pretty good next to that box. Hmmm......I might have to make myself one of these.

I am sooooo ready for spring! I found this butterfly box at T.J. Maxx the other day for only $9.99. What a deal! It reminded me of spring and worked perfectly on the coffee table. I also got a set of the books on the coffee table and in the bookcase for $30 the other day at an estate sale. Some of them were a little worn, but they are 100 years old afterall and the binders were really pretty. I thought that was a good deal too, considering I've been looking and can't find a set of 12 for under $75.

Thanks for stopping by! Maybe I gave you some ideas you can make yourself or if you prefer, you can order these off my Etsy store. It's listed under "My Links" on the left hand side. I am going to upload them now. I will also be participating in "Flaunt Your Red Party" on Friday hosted by Nancy at http://southernlady-nancy.blogspot.com/ so be sure and stop back by. Boy do I have lots of red!

Thanks for your prayers!

Thanks so much for praying for my little ole tooth. It's doing so much better! I go to the endodontist on Thurs. and I just know I am going to be back to normal. I believe God is going to work through him to fix it.
I will have a new post soon(with pictures). I left my camera charger plugged in the hotel in Maui and didn't realize it until recently. I had to order one and it still has not arrived. Hopefully today will be the day! Don't forget about me!!! I'll be back soon with several things to show you......

A toothache and a few recent projects

Hey guys, Thanks for all your nice comments on my Maui pics. For those of you that haven't been, I hope you get to go someday. For those of you who don't like to fly, maybe someone will find a way to pave a road in the ocean someday.lol!
I could use a little prayer. I've had a tooth that's been bothering me for several months now. It's a long story, but I've had two fillings including a medicated one, and finally had a partial root canal lastTues. They were supposed to finish it, but with all the pain I've been having, decided to set me up with an endodontist to see if there might be a crack or something they are not seeing (since it's not absessed). I've been on pain meds for a while now and finally the pain is letting up a little bit. I've had alot of people in my area praying, so I thought I would ask you guys too. I would really appreciate it!

Before I went to Maui and had the root canal, I worked on a few projects. Remember the contemporary house? She asked me to come back and redo her bookcases. She was also having a party for her little girl and wanted me to decorate the light fixture and table. She had a lot of really neat old books and we decided to put them in the top of the wood cabinet. I tried to create interest by using balance and scale in the bookcases. She has alot of really nice pieces!

She bought the butterflies and flowers. I used some of the green netting she had left over from Christmas and laid the flowers and butterflies around. Simple but cute! She put m&ms in the little buckets for the party.

I made this frame on a request and would be happy to make another one.

This lady needed an arrangement for her buffet. She had the container and wanted something that would go through spring. So this is what I came up with! She seemed to really like it.

Have a great rest of the week! Again.....I would appreciate a little prayer for this angry tooth! Thanks!!

I'm Back! Maui is Gorgeous!!!

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful week! I sure did! Ok.......We are selling everything we own and moving to Maui! LOL!! ;) It is absolutely beautiful!! The flowers, the ocean, the palm trees, it's all just gorgeous! We stayed at the Grand Wailea Resort and it was stunning. My dad is part owners of a food company here in our home town so it was partly business for him and my brother who also works for the company. My aunt, uncle, and cousins were there too. I have lots of pictures to show you!! The weather was very nice, a few clouds here and there, but lots of sun too. It stays around 76 to 82 degrees all year around.

This was one of the views off the balcony. I already miss sitting out there with my binoculars watching the whales splash around in the water. We snorkeled down by the rocks, it was awesome! The fish and coral reefs were incredible. We saw all colors of fish and sea creatures!

Another view of the mountains on the other side of the balcony.
The flowers and sculptures were beautiful inside the hotel. This was in the entyway.

The shops were incredible....but very expensive! I really wanted one of those glass jellyfish. If I read the tag right, I think that big jellyfish said $8000! Woah!! They really were stunning, click to enlarge.

This was all made of tile.

View from the balcony where we ate breakfast.

Inside the hotel, the top is all open.

When you drive up... this guy is there to greet you.

Inside the breakfast room.

My breakfast in the mornings. The fruit was absolutly delicious! So sweet! The thing in the middle of the plate that looks like raw chicken was some kind of fruit, it was so tasty!

This place had the most awesome slides and pools, it took a while to find our way around because it was so big.

Waterfalls were everywhere, there was a hot tub under this one.

Chase at the beach.

I guess this was a sea slug, wierd!

This was at the Luau..... me, Kevin, Chase, Daniel and Liberty.

Mom and Dad

Digging up the yummy pig!

The dancers were incredible!

Like I said, the flowers were beautiful!

Mom and I on the way to the Shops at Wailea. I bought candy and t-shirts. No glass jellyfish!!

Chase got a kick out of all the statues. Most of them were nude! lol

Dinner

Chase and his cousin Morgan.

Ahhhh......the sunset, I'm gonna miss it! I absoultly love the ocean and beach, maybe someday we will get back there. I am so thankful we got to go on this fabulous trip!

We had a great time! Thanks again to mom and dad!!! Now.....I'm off to see what some of you guys have been up to!

I will have my Etsy store back up soon and will be making more frames!
