The Raised Garden Is Done! ~Come And See~

Yay! It's done!! We are so excited about our little garden. It turned out great considering it's built on a hill...I was having some doubt, but hubby was right, he knew what he was doing! We planted tomatoes, okra, squash, zucchini, hot peppers, and bell peppers. We left space for some broccoli, but we haven't found any yet. Broccoli is Chase's favorite veggie!
Hubby found a program online called growveg.com that let's you plan out your garden according to the square footage. It really helped to know how many plants you can fit and how far apart to space each one. Here is when we started...
Hubby placed the first boards and lined the sides with plastic to prevent wood rot and hold in the moisture.
He did most of the work, and he said measuring and digging was the hardest part. After that is was just a matter of nailing all of the landscaping boards together.
when it was all done, he reloaded most of the dirt and mixed it with a truckload of compost. We also bought Miracle Grow Shake n Feed and mixed it in. After it was all done, it needed a little something to dress it up...wooden finials! Yes, even a garden needs to be decorated a little!!lol

Now we can enjoy fresh veggies all summer long! I will be updating pictures when everything starts to grow. The cost of this garden was about $140. That included the wood, nails, finials, compost and plants...everything. Not bad! Oh...and it measures 4x16.

Thanks for your visit!! Have a great weekend!

Tablescape Thursday~Bumble Bees and Wildflowers~

Hey Guys! I hope you are all having a great week!! I decided to join Susan at Between Naps On The Porch this week for tablescape Thursday. Please go by and pay her and the other participants a visit. I'm sure there will be plenty of beautiful spring tablescapes this week! I look forward to checking them all out.
This tablescape did not turn out as I had planned...I had black and yellow in mind until I set the bumble bee container on the table. Then I decided to use the coral and green along with the black and yellow. Sometimes things don't turn out as planned but end up working out anyway!

I found the bumble bee napkins and container at Dallas Market and thought they were just too cute!
See the little bumble bees on the flower? As you can tell I love the airy wildflower look!

I think my silverware is in the right place this time! lol...

Thank you for checking out my tablescape!
P.S....The raised garden is finally done! The rain held us off for a while, but hubby finished and we got everything planted tonight. I will post pictures on Saturday... so please check back.

Our Newest Project~~~A Raised Garden!

Hey guys! I wanted to show you our latest project! It's going to be a raised garden. We wanted to do a raised garden last year, but after building the patio hubby was too tired and we had gone over budget, so we decided to wait until this spring. We love home grown tomatoes, so that will be our main veggie. We are planning to plant bell peppers, squash, okra, and maybe more or less because of spacing. We will have to see what we can fit. It will measure 16x4...I thought 4 ft. was way too small but hubby read up on it and they are usually made that way so you can reach into it from one side. Hmmm...I didn't think of that! It's going to be built on one side of the hill, so hubby will have to level everything...he says he knows what he's doing! We will see! lol...Here is the start of it, lots of digging!

Here are some examples of raised gardens....

Sorry this picture is so darn small! I think this is what ours is going to look like. We are using landscaping timbers so it will look nice.

While hubby has been digging, I've been planting...
And mulching...our trees are really growing!

I've also been buying a few new things for the patio. I love these copper tiki torches. They look alot nicer and will last longer than the other ones we had. I will show you the patio soon...I'm waiting on a few pillows I ordered.
Thanks for stopping by! I'll be updating pictures of the garden as it comes along. We are hoping to finish it this weekend if the rain holds off! Let me know if you have a raised garden...I would love some gardening tips!

~~My New Table And Lamp~~

Hey guys! I wanted to show you where I put my new little table...or is it a chest? Maybe it's a mini chest...lol. The table I had there before was too small and so was the lamp. I have been eyeing this lamp at Hobby Lobby forever but knew I needed a more substantial table for it to fit on. The shade was a little plain so I added the fringe and trim to dress it up. I think I have way to many accessories with birds on them, see the pictures in the background? I am drawn to anything with a bird on it!

Here are my new finds in their spot! It's fun to get something new!
I hope you are having a great week!

I Shopped Until I Almost Dropped!!

Hey guys! I hope you all had a great week! I'm sorry it has taken me so long to do this post. We ended up staying in Dallas until Thursday. Sherry and I decided to stay and go back to market and do more shopping! Alot of the showrooms were having great sales and we were able to pick up several great items including flower stems and ribbon. I snapped a few pictures of some showroom windows as I was walking by. Maybe I will start selling arrangements as big as these in my Etsy store soon!LOL...

I found some beautiful ribbons for my tassels and frames. I will be listing some soon...

I also found some beautiful flower stems! Some of these I was able to buy in the showrooms, others I ordered and can't believe they already arrived! That was fast! This is only part of them...I went a little crazy :0

I ended up making myself a new arrangement for my dining room table with some of the new stems.

I also bought this birdhouse. You know one thing leads to another...I ended up redoing the tops of my cabinets thanks to this piece! lol...
I bought this pretty little chest too...I'll show you where I put it soon.
Not only did we go to market but we went to Stein mart, T.J. Maxx, Macy's, etc...I bought the purse and blouse at T.J. Maxx and the shoes at Stein mart.
We had alot of fun, but yesterday I spent the whole day cleaning! When the cat's away the mice will play. lol...Would you believe I went shopping again today? Chase had to have some new shorts, so we ended up going to J.C. Pennies. I am shopped out!! (for now;)
I hope you all have a blessed Sunday...

~Fun and Colorful Ribbon/Mesh Wreath~

Hey guys! I wanted to show you this fun and colorful ribbon/mesh wreath I made for a client this week. I have showed you several of these for different seasons. I have a few ladies who love these and want one for every season. This one will be cute for the spring and summer months.

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter! I know Easter decorations are fun and cute, but let's all remember what it's really all about...Jesus! He is alive!

I will be in Dallas until Wednesday. I'm going back to market and will hopefully bring back lots of goodies! I will be listing several new arrangements towards the end of the week, so keep that in mind for Mother's Day! I was busy with custom orders, and other things this week, but I have lots of new flowers, birds and rabbits to make into arrangements when I get back.

Have a blessed Easter!
