I thought I would show you a little fresh summer vignette I put together on my island the other day. Some of you might have seen it on my Facebook page yesterday. I found the burlap bee containers at T.J. Maxx a while back. I love filling them with fresh flowers when Wal-Mart has them on sale. These bundles were only $2 a piece...normally $4.99. The bee candle is Aromatique and the scent is sorbet. It smells so good!
I love the wire stand I found at Kirkland's and have shown it before. I have been keeping apples in it and replacing them as they are eaten. I love the color they add too.
These flowers are called alstromeria. I worked at a flower/gift shop for 15 years so I still remember the names of most flowers.
Love these bright green mums...
I am hoping the flowers last a few more days. That's the good thing about silk...they don't die! lol
Happy last days of summer! I guess it doesn't officially end until Sept.22. However, school starts next Monday so although the heat will stick around for a while, there will be no more lazy days for Chase. He will be in the 7th grade this year! It seems like I just dropped him off at Kindergarden. Time sure does fly!
Have a great week!
The vignette is so pretty, Kristen!
ReplyDeleteI love those Mums. I've heard them called spider mums.
The colors just pop in your pretty kitchen.
Hi Kristen,
ReplyDeleteYour summer vignette is so pretty. I love the splash of color.
I can't believe so many kids start school already, mine don't go back till Sept. 7th. My oldest will be going into 7th this year, too! Time sure does go by fast, doesn't it? I hope Chase has a wonderful year!
Thanks for sharing, love the burlap around the candle, too cute! XO ~Liz
Very pretty! I'm sorry your guy has to go back to school so early. I wonder what the point of that is? ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteKristen, this is so pretty. I love getting fresh flowers at the grocery store. They just add "something" to the home. The burlap containers are awesome!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty vignette complete with your signature colors. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful vignette Kristen! I LOVE those burlap covered bee containers!
ReplyDeleteVery bright and colorful. I just love your creativity! I wish I had an island to decorate - no idea why the previous owners added the lighting where an island should go, but no island! ;(
ReplyDeleteI am going to miss summer, but I'm ready for the crispness of fall. Our kids started back to school on Monday - I know how you feel about Chase - I have a 7th and 5th grader, and one that just started kindergarten. Time has really flown by for all 3! I hope Chase has a great year! Nicole
Looks so refreshing, Kristen.
