The Firepit Patio...What A Difference Flowers Make

I mentioned in my last post that we worked on the yard over the weekend. I just could not wait any longer to get some color out here. Saturday I went to Wal-mart and Lowe's and bought flowers in red, yellow, orange and purple...my favorite color combination! I don't think I could get away with pink out here since this is Kevin's manly spot! Haha! So he thinks...

Now that's better. Not too manly...but he's ok with it now. The first year he built the patio he said he did not want any flowers out here. I had a little fit and he changed his mind. =)

I had the pillows and bench cushion made last year. They faded a little, but still look pretty good.
I'm going to paint the bench with a bronzy color like the chairs.

The hanging baskets are from Wal-mart. I love the color combination! They were around $15 each.

I planted the large pots with several different kinds of flowers. They will be really pretty in about a month.
Here's Sugar enjoying the sunshine.

She spotted Sassy and Coco and the chase is on!

Have a wonderful Wednesday! Be sure and come back on Thursday for my Share Your Creations Party. There were some great links last week! I enjoyed looking through them.

  3. I love the baskets! It seems to be harder each year to find the baskets with multiple flowers, but these are great. May go check it out!

  5. Such a great looking spot, Kristen! I loved seeing it last year, too. You have to have some flowers! My hubby hates flowers because of bees. I'll probably plant some annuals around the condo but by the front door I'll probably go with more colorful greenery like coleus. I'll get the color I want and he won't have to deal with bees! : )

  19. Yeah, the flowers add a tropical element to your fire pit. :) But don’t grow too many of them there or put them anywhere near the pit. It’s better to be safe in case some strong wind blows while you’re having a camp fire. :)
