I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!
I mentioned last week that I was going to start working on my craft room. I also mentioned that I was going to redo the floor and ended up picking out vinyl for durability and price. Well, it was installed yesterday and I actually really like it! This is after we pulled out all of the dirty paint stained carpet! I think concrete looks better than that dirty carpet! lol...
And after! It really looks like stained concrete to me. It feels so good to get rid of the carpet and get something in here I can sweep up and clean alot easier. As you know I work with silk flowers and ribbon and it wasn't fun handpicking up ribbon remnants and stems out of the carpet. Much better!
I am also organizing everything in here. This is just SOME of my ribbon...
I've gone from Christmas to Spring! I will be making spring and Easter arrangements soon.
I have practical tables in here, but am going to be adding some pretty fabric around them soon. Although this is a workroom you know I can't stand it to be boring! lol...A little fabric and a few decorative touches will make this a room I want to be in!
Kevin even bought me a T.V. to watch while I'm working! =) I think that was a hint!
Oh, and the lamps will get a little revamp too...
I will be working on this room off and on over the next month. I hope to get it done pretty quickly. I will show you my progress as I get it done. Practicality is the main thing I'm going for in this room...
Well, it looks like we are keeping the cat! We have been checking the lost and found and even placed an add on Craigslist, but no one is missing her I guess. Anyway, I think she has made herself at home! lol...This is how she lays on the sofa.
She's so sweet and very independent. I guess I have named her Sugar because that's what I keep calling her. As some of you know we have another cat named Coco who is amazingly still alive. She has got to be around 16 to 17 years old. We thought she was going to die last year, but it turned out she had an abscess and got better. However, she still has signs of kidney failure and know it is just a matter of time. She still feels pretty good and we are glad she is still around.

Loving the craft room. Lucky you! I probably would craft more if I could have a room available... maybe when that youngest flies away! Sugar is very sweet...
ReplyDeleteglad she found you as her selected owner!
It's looking great, Kristen! I think in a craft/sewing room practicality needs to come first, then you can add pretty.
ReplyDeleteI do like the new floor. All of those ribbons are gorgeous! I makes me want to buy some new frames. I will have to wait until our next home though to be sure of colors that I will use.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are keeping Sugar! She is beautiful and I love her new name. I'm sorry about Coco. That makes me sad.

ReplyDeleteThat will be so much easier for you Kristen !!!
ReplyDeleteLooking good so far.
How do the cats get along?
My sister's cat Jessy died yesterday, she was 14, she is so sad !!!
Have a great Monday,
Kathy :)
Love your craft room! Working on my craft room as well. My Hubby is adding some weinscotting as I type. I can't wait to organize all my craft supplies. I'm sure it will make projects easier. Sugar is adorable!
ReplyDeleteHi Kristen! I will enjoy watching your craft room progress. So funny because I have had the same thoughts. I am going to get down there tomorrow and start going through my floral stems..weeding out and organizing. We just have to do that some times, huh? Oh I love Sugar! I can see why you would want to keep that pretty thing.
ReplyDeleteFun post! :)

Hello Kristen,
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help but comment about those two wooden rabbits that you have pictured in your post.... I bought one just like that last spring and made my mom an Easter wreath with it. Bless her heart.... She SO LOVED the Mardi Gras bling I had up there that she pointed at my Easter bunny wreath and said, "Someone took my beautiful Mardi Gras wreath down and put THIS ugly thing up." LOL Dementia had quite a grip on my momma. We lost her soon after Easter but I can't help but giggle when I see that Easter wreath in the closet.
Have to giggle because I have one your arrangements with the rabbit! Can't wait for spring so it can be displayed.
ReplyDeleteThe craft room is looking good. I have a craft room and don't use the big ribbons like you do, but have a ribbon holder from Michaels that is wonderful.
Okay ... that is too funny how Sugar lays on the sofa !! They say that cats pick their owners ... so glad she chose you guys !! Your craft room is awesome ... I'm beyond envious that you have a space all for you !!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, do you all install your floors? Good idea for a craft room floor. One thing missing, the table where you do all the magic. Looking forward to your spring crafts. So ready for Spring! :)
ReplyDeleteLove you new flooring! That does look like stained concrete. I know you are going to enjoy the easy clean up. I've been working in my craft room this weekend too...maybe if I get it all cleaned out I could actually do something crafty! Your new kitty looks like he is perfectly happy in his new home. Have a great week!

The craft room is looking good Kristen. I love all the ribbons so pretty. Glad you are keeping Sugar, she is so pretty she just looks like she belongs there! xoxo Jeanette
ReplyDeleteOh, Kristen! It looks wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteI am also in the middle of creating my own craft room and I love what you have done with yours! Thank you for the inspiration! We are almost done with the flooring and I hope to start getting some shelving and cabinets in there soon.
BTW, Sugar is just too cute!!!
Awee - love little Sugar! She's probably pregnant if she's not already spayed : 0 But then you've probably had enough cats to know that! Glad little Cocoa is still doing well too! We've had quite a year here with renal failure - but with the 14 yr old tzu boy. He got better too and we look forward to his 15th BD on March 10! Oh - love the craft room too! Wish I could go to market with you!
