Oh boy...I do not know what I was thinking when I decided to do an oil painting of fall trees over my mantle! I could really use some more lessons....for sure! I have forgotten alot over the last 8 years. I'm just not sure how I feel about this painting...one minute I think it looks ok, then the other I want to rip it down! lol...Maybe I can live with it over the fall months.
I am pleased with how the rest of the mantle turned out...
I mentioned in my last post that I wasn't sure what to put in the green vases. I found the dried wheaty things, grass, and sticks at Hobby Lobby. I thought I needed something natural and simple since I had so much other stuff going on on the mantle.
I do love all the different pumpkins!
I'm working on the rest of the living room, dining room and kitchen now! Then I will start on the outside...
Also, I will be listing more fall Etsy items on Tuesday and Wednesday if you are interested.
Have a great Monday!

ReplyDeleteYour mantel looks beautiful, Kristen! I like the painting you've got there now. The tall grasses are great - giving height and filling in any wall space next to the painting wonderfully. Great garland.

ReplyDeleteKristen! Your painting is a masterpiece! I love it. I'm telling ya - you should sell these on Etsy. I think you are just so used to what was there before that seeing something new is hard for you, but trust me - the new painting is amazing. And the fact that you made it makes it sentimental, which is priceless.
