My Colorful Patios... Come And See!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Whew! I'm beat! We have been working in the yard the entire weekend. As I said yesterday, I weed eated (edged) the front and back. I also planted flowers in the front and finished up the patios. I have really flowered them up as Kevin would say! lol...I do love flowers! You might remember I had the striped pillows made. They really add a pop of color to the green sofa and chairs we recently purchased at Wal-Mart.

I found the rug at Home Depot. It really made the patio feel more like a room.

I love having the metal stand out here to display flowers and accessories on. I added three pots of begonias to the coffee table. I found the little bird cage at market. I sprayed it brown and added the bird in the pot inside. I've had this fleur de lis metal table for a long time. It's a little beat up so I decided it would work perfectly outside. The metal stand is full of life and color! I've been looking at it all winter empty! Well...I left a few pots of dead flowers on it. lol. Yay Spring! I found this sign a few years ago at Hobby Lobby.
I have mentioned before that I love turtles! Chase is ready to go turtle hunting again this spring.

The purple flower is a primrose mixed with red begonias.
I don't remember what this is but it is absolutly beautiful!! I bought it at Wal-Mart a week or so ago and I just hope I can keep it alive! I have never seen anything like it before.
I just love this color combo!
Creeping Jenny
This was a hanging basket of lobella but I took the handle off and set it on a metal stand.
Now let's go out to the firepit patio...
You might remember that Kevin built this patio a few years ago. He is still so proud of it...I think he and the neighbor are in a competition! I haven't seen the neighbors, but Kevin says ours is a little fancier! Ha! I think it's just the flowers and pillows...
Now I did have those pretty striped pillows in all of the chairs. However, Kevin had a good fire going and a huge gust of wind blew one in and it was immediatly engulfed in flames! Ahhh!!! Oh well, I was thinking it was too many stripes anyways...hehe. I am looking for a solid fabric to have some pillows made. I am also going to have the tan cushion on the bench recoverd too.
Alot of my pansies came back so I just mixed some merigolds and petunias in with them.
Petunias really add alot of color.
Yum! Some hamburgers cooking on the firepit. Poor little Sassy can't see...she needs her hair up.
Kevin brought in a load of poop for the garden...I told him he was planting everything this year!lol... His friend used it in his garden last year and said his veggies were really big and tasty! I know it's a good fertilizer but gross!

Thanks for checking out the patios! I will probably post them again as things grow and I add different things. I will also show you the front yard soon. Have a great week!!

  3. It looks wonderful, Kristen! I wish I could do flowers now, but we have to wait until around Mother's Day for the last frost. I usually go crazy that weekend setting up the patio, cleaning the furniture and planting. Although this weekend I did buy some tulips, daffodils and a pot sized evergreen for our front pot. I needed something flowering out there!

  4. Just beautiful....I love your patios! Here in Kansas the wind blows my pots over and things off shelves etc. It is so hard to keep things on my porches and patios.

Last year we bought furniture and cushions..and we had to also buy a lock up chest to put them in when not in use because they blow away! Ha!

I loved all of the pretty flowers. So colorful. I do not have a green thumb. Everything dies...eventually. But for me it is sooner than later. Ha!
They are so expenive I just hate to waste the money.

Part of the problem is we go on lots of trips and they die while we are gone. It also gets so hot here in the Spring and Summer that ya need to water them all of the time and we don't like to ask people to water them for us when we are gone.

Gosh...I sound like a party pooper with all of the negative remarks. Ha! I'm really not. I just think it is wonderful that you can enjoy the patios and the beauty you have brought to them.

    Enjoy!

  11. Oh so pretty Kristen. I'm just itching to start my gardening. We usually wait until the middle of May to start planting here because of the chance of a late frost. I keep telling my husband we should move to a warmer climate!

  20. Wow! The fire-pit at the center of the patio is really nice and something novel for a typical outdoor living room. You did a pretty good job in designing them, and those flowers bring more life to the already vibrant space. Kevin's right, your patios are fascinatingly beautiful!
