Happy Spring???

Hey Guys! First I want to apologize for taking an unexpected bloggy break. Truth is... I had a little touch of bloggers block! I sat down to do a post a few times and just decided to go watch a lifetime movie or a reality show on TLC...lol! Have you seen Hoarders? Oh My!! I did come to a conclusion about something I want to change here on my blog...I will talk about it at the end of this post.

Ok...for most of you today was probably a beautiful warm spring day. For some of us Arkansans it was like the middle of winter! I heard it was supposed to snow, but just didn't believe it when the temperature was 72 on Friday. What do I know? This is what we woke up to this morning...

On Friday afternoon I was sunning myself on the hammock!
The flowers were so confused...Luckily this stuff is melting and the weather is supposed to be back up in the 60s and 70s this week. YAY!

Before all of this snow...mom and I were driving and passed this field of daffodils. They are just beautiful! Or they WERE beautiful...

Mom pulled over so I could pick a few (on the outside of the fence :) I just couldn't resist! I pulled down a birdcage on top of my cabinets and came up with this little display. You could also do this with silk flowers.

I am becoming butterfly nuts like my mom! We love butterflies!!
I bought this flag at Kohl's the other day.
I made this wreath last year, and surprisingly it didn't fade too much. I added some butterflies to go with the flag.
I bought this cute little metal sign at Hobby Lobby. I am SOOO ready for spring!! I can't say it enough...especially after today!

Here are some items I just listed in my Etsy store. The arrangements all have something cute in them to make them unique. The flowers are good quality and are very wispy and airy.

I said I was going to change up my blog a little bit. I am thinking it might be easier for me to post more often, but do smaller posts! I have been trying to do one big post a week, but everything I want to show you just doesn't fit and I spend hours organizing a post (although it might not look like it...lol.) I notice that alot of you do this and it seems to work out. So be sure and check my blog more often! I think this will work out better...See you soon!!

  1. Ooohhhh, I love your new arrangements! Our weather is confused too, but thank goodness it doesn't snow here.
Great idea to create shorter posts. It so much easier... That said, I've had blogger's block since November & haven't posted a thing. You can find me on Facebook everyday tho... ☺♥☺

  2. Snow? Oh goodness, I know that you could hardly believe that surprise. What a way to welcome spring!

I love your new arrangements and would bet that they won't last long on etsy.

I'm wondering when I'll ever have time to post again. It's hard sometimes to fit everything that has to be done into a day.

  3. Oh you are a very talented lady. Beautiful Etsy creations. I too, love butterflies. I love to photograph them. The challenge of getting them to be still long enough to capture their beauty. I love how you did the flowers in the bird cage. The wreath on the door, just beautiful. I believe the weather all over is "confused". Here in Florida we actually had two month of "winter", no snow here but COLD for us and the plants were hit and killed like I have never seen before in all the 28 years I have been living here. Have a blessed day.

  5. Morning, Kristen ... okay, so, I couldn't help but laugh "just" a little bit seeing the snow ... that is just CRAZY, especially considering you were laying out just two days before that. Ugh. Hopefully, that was the last of the winter weather for you, and your flowers can continue to bloom and welcome Spring !! I love your Spring wreath and new flag and seeing all of your pretty touches around your house !! I so understand about writer's block and look forward to seeing more posts from you !! Have a great day, Becca

  10. Hello! I'm so happy you came by Kristen! I was wondering about you and hoping all was going well with you and your family. I understand about having a bloggers block sometimes believe me. I'm thinking I am really ready for a nice bloggy break very soon. I've only taken a short one last November and that's it in 17 total months of blogging. ~Whew! I'm sure I look like I'm posting the same things over and over again. I think my followers are bored since I lost 3 of them in one day yesterday. That's a real bummer since I'm sitting here wondering why? I have no idea what else to post about and I'm not crafty as you know. You make everything for me. HeHe! LOVE the red and yellow flower arrangement that sold already. Shucks! I was going to buy it. :) Can you make me another one and maybe add a touch of sage green to it to match my foyer? I'm thinking I would replace the one I have in my foyer and leave it out year round. How tall is it? I need a height of around 18 inches or so for it to show well in that spot.
Thanks! Email me the details if you would like.

Your home is looking GORGEOUS and so cheerful for Spring! The terrarium cage is precious and your front door wreath is stunning. ~WOW! I just adore your gorgeous home and decor'. I could move in and not change a singlev thing. *Smiles*

I cannot believe it snowed on you all this late in the season. Oh no! I'm sure tht has got to be the last of it and it will be beautiful weather soon. I felt like working on the yard and then lost my motivation this past weekend. I need some ferns and flowers soon.

I do like your idea of smaller more frequent postsd. That sounds great! I may do the same. I know what you mean about it taking a long time to get a post ready.
Especially me with my terrible computer skills. Yikes!

    Have a wonderful day! ~Melissa :)

  12. Kristen, I live in central Alberta, Canada and our snow is gone but it's white there. Something wrong with that picture! I sure hope your flowers didn't freeze. I'll be looking forward to more posts. I always enjoy your ideas and beautiful creations.

  15. Hi I have come across your blog through Melissa. I was wondering about a frame from your etsy shop. I am looking for an animal print with a G. I saw the one from your Etsy shop and I love it but what is the colored ribbon? It looks mauve? or is it another color? I actually would love that but the coordinating ribbon would need to be more terracotta color. My e-mail is gallaghergfam@wideopenwest.com. You make beautiful things! Nancy from OHIO

  16. Hi Kristen,
Well, I'm too late to the party! I see that all your creations are already sold. Oh well, maybe next time ~ :-)

We had snow Sat afternoon & evening and bitterly cold north winds yesterday. Just too much for this time of year, especially since Sat was the 1st day of spring! Lots of cities just a bit north of Dallas had 6-9 inches! We had almost 2" here.

Today, high 60's, bright sunshine and another perfect spring day! I'm loving it so much. Will be moving on Wed so will be off-line for a bit. Not sure why AT&T is so difficult but they have not been cooperative with me and I gave them 30 days notice re: the move. Oh well, guess it will be what it will be.

Your home is always so lovely and the touches of spring are 'happy'. I love that wreath! I can't wait to start flowers and get my new patio ready to relax in.

Hope you have a blessed week!

    xoxo
    Pat

  17. Would LOVE to have you post more often even if they are smaller! Your new floral arrangements are gorgeous and I love how each one has an ornament or something special in them! The birdcage/daffodil idea is terrific! You got some great new items to Welcome Spring and sounds like you need them! We've had an unseasonably warm winter but being a skier, we'd love more snow! Guess we're never happy!
