~~Our Gingerbread Kitchen~~

Hey guys! I'm sorry I've been MIA...we took a little trip to Dallas over the weekend. I was going to try and get my post up before we left, but you know how it is trying to get ready to go on a trip...Crazy! Anyway, I will have several pics of our trip to post including my friend Sherry's house decorated for Christmas...oh my! It is BEAUTIFUL!!

Alot of you probably remember my kitchen from last year. It is the same theme, but just like the living and dining room, I have added a little here and there. I think this is the third year I have had the peppermint centerpiece on the the island and kitchen table. However, this year I added the peppermint picks...now they feel more complete!

I was waiting on my little gingerbread plates I bought from EBay and they arrived on Thurs. They go perfectly in the middle of the striped plates. They were only $12 for the set of four.

A boy...

and a girl...

I found the gingerbread house napkin rings at Dillard's. My Ma maw was with me and bought them for me because she knew how much I liked them. Love my Ma maw!!

I added the candy picks to the tree this year also. I have real candy canes on here too, but they keep disappearing...hmmmm.lol...

The candy picks really added to the top of the tree. It must have been boring last year...lol.

The candy trees are new this year. I found them at market and thought they were so cute! I made the gingerbread terrarium again! Alot of you commented on it last year.
It's made with sugar, real gumdrops and candy canes, gingerbread men and candy ornaments. The gingerbread house is actually a stocking holder. I buried the hook for the stocking in the sugar.

I added lots of ribbons and a Happy Holidays ornament on the top of the jar.

I love the gingerbread candle holder! I bought it at Kohl's last year.

I ordered the Cookies for Santa platter and glittered gingerbread man for my show, but ended up keeping one of each. the train is Fitz and Floyd, but I think it's missing some pieces...oh well, I still like it!
I wanted to add something to my light fixtures this year and came up with this(last minute)...It's really simple. The curly things remind me of that old fashioned candy. Yum!

Thanks for stopping by!! I'm linking to Element Interiors and No Minimalist Here...please pay them a visit! I will be posting several frames through out the day tomorrow in case you need a gift! I have had alot of trouble getting frames lately. I picked some up in Dallas, but most of what I make will be one of a kind. I am hoping to find a good frame source when I go to market in January.
I hope you are enjoying the holiday season!!

I'm not a blogger, but I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your creations! They are so beautiful and you are so talented. Love all your bows especially! I check periodically just to see what new creation you have came up with. I get overwhelm every time I check your blog out with all your colors that you put together.

Well, I got two ideas that I'm stealing from you, Kristen! : ) Actually, one is a reminder that I really should have put something bow-like at the top of my little countertop Christmas tree in my kitchen. I was just looking at it last night thinking it was so empty. I love the idea of a bow and some ribbon on your light fixture. I have one over our kitchen table that I didn't put anything on - just wasn't feeling ornaments hanging off it or greenery, but I think a bow will work out just fine. Yes, I remember your Christmas terrarium from last year ~ love it! The candy trees are a great addition, too. It all looks scrumptious!

I LOVE your gingerbread decorations! That terrarium is the sweetest thing I've seen for Christmas yet! I only wish we could buy such things here in New Zealand, but I might have a go at making something like the terrarium myself. Thanks so much for sharing! Kathleen

You're just too talented, sweet friend. All of your littl ecorners in the kitchen are so sweet and look at your little skinny tree - adorable and I see another little explosion.
Be a sweetie,
