Met Monday, Chase turns 10, and a wonderful giveaway!

Hey Guys! I'm joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Met Monday. Be sure and pay her a visit, she has a wonderful blog with great ideas and some of the best tablescapes you've ever seen!

Alot of you guys have seen our backyard project, I thought I would post it one last time so you can see what it looked like in April when we first started up until now. In this first pic I had no idea how this would turn out, especially with hubby doing all the work! lol...

Here it is after everything was done, Whew!!

Here it was this evening. Everything is growing and starting to fill in now. We have really been enjoying it. It will be wonderful this fall! I already have some more landscaping plans for next spring, we're also thinking of maybe a little water fall somewhere.

I spend alot of time watering, but it's worth it!

Have you guys ever seen a hummingbird moth? It's really interesting, it looks just like a hummingbird from a distance.

Chase turned 10 last week, I can't believe it! He's growing up way to fast! This is the first time he's had girls at his party,lol... they had alot of fun. (He's the one in the blue shirt)

I wanted to tell you guys that I appreciate your visits and and nice comments. I know I haven't been around much this summer, once Chase is back in school I can get back on a schedule. I will be posting some pics of a few things I've been working on inside soon. I will also be making more frames. I am looking for a work desk to put in the piano room, it will make it easier to work.

Ok, now you MUST go visit Melissa at Melissa's Heart and Home. She is having a wonderful giveaway that you won't want to miss! She is one of the sweetest people!

Have a wonderful week!!!

  10. Kristen - everything looks so lovely! I remember seeing the post when you first did the backyard - it has really filled in nicely!

When Meghan turned 10 she would say, "I'm two hands old now" and hold up both hands and all 10 fingers - seemed just like yesterday and now she's 19!

    Happy Monday -

  19. Hey Girlfriend...

Just read the sweet note that you left for me...my friend, I was so happy to see you! I've missed you but completely understand how busy summer can be! Thank you so much for leaving me such a sweet comment!

Girl, your new patio is simply gorgeous! You're right, it's looking so pretty with all of the flowers growing and filling in! I just can't believe those huge pots of petunias...soooo pretty! You know, we have hummingbird moths too. I have flowers down one side of the house called Bouncing Bet...the moths just love them! They're so interesting to watch. I did a little research...they're actually called Sphinx moths or Hawk moths. They really do look so much like a hummingbird though...I've always called them hummingbird moths!

Well my friend, so happy to hear from you today!

  27. Hi Kristen, I just found your blog and LOVE it. and OMG, I've seen the hummingbird moth in my yard a few times, and we couldn't figure out what it was, I'd say oooh look there's a hummingbird, but then I'd look again and so, it can't be it's much smaller, it's just a HUGE moth!!! But it hangs around the flowers like a hummingbird does..amazing. I will have to follow your blog and come back often.
Oh, and I have one dd, same sweet name as you, she's 8 :-)

Looks like it was a fun birthday. I think I did see a hummingbird moth once. I didn't know what it was, and when I tried to describe it, we thought it might be a baby hummingbird. I'm so lad you captured this photo, so I could identify it. laurie
