Decorating Kitchen Cabinet Tops

Here are the tops of my kitchen cabinets. I tried to create a warm and inviting atmosphere with color and greenery. As you can see I like lots of things, I created different levels just like in the bookcases to create some interest.

It was really hard to get good pictures, my kitchen is pretty small and there's a light hanging over the island that kept getting in the way.
I've been really busy the last couple of days making things for my Etsy Store and a craft show I'm doing in Dec. I'm excited about Christmas, but it's also a very busy time as we all know. Also look for my blog give away soon!!

~Gorgeous Kristen! I always love your sense of style and balance. The fronts of your cabinets are beautiful too. Thanks for coming by and complimenting my tablescape. It was a spur of the moment decision to post it. I must admit I don't even own a tablecloth but I have four sets of dishes. Go figure...~Melissa

Wow! I found your blog by accident and quickly scrolled through all the lovely photos. I have placed a big red star on a post-it sheet right in front of my keyboard, as a reminder to myself to come back tonight and drool over your classy decorated house! I'm a new blogger as well, hope you'll stop by...

Wow, wish mine looked like this.
Years ago I collected baskets (longerberger) and I put them on top of the cabinets the day we moved in and never removed them.
Don't don't necessary look good in the home so I might put them on e-bay and see them.
Your home is absolutly beautful and the color schemes are lovely.

Kristen, I love your kitchen. We need to redo are kitchen in white cabinets and yellow walls. Not sure of the counter top yet! Did you by change get your book yet. I accidently switched the lil' card I put in your package with someone elses. I am sorry. I hope it didn't confuse you. I saw yours on my sewing table the other day! Made me so mad! I was trying to keep that from happening and it did anyway. hugs, Ellen

You did a great job up there! I know how hard it is to get everything looking just right on top of them! It takes SeVEraL trips up & down the ladder!

Hey, I am starting... to feel a little better. I don't think I will be going back to the floral shop. I can't have any set back with my shoulder. This was way too scarey for me. I am not sure what I'll do. Maybe just stay at home and enjoy my beautiful life.
Hugs, Terrie

This is one reason why I like to be able to decorate above my cabinets. It adds such character and something special to the kitchen. My kitchen is screaming 1977 drop ceiling plexiglass panels and hopefully I will be able to have that changed in 2012..It's on my list of goals to accomplish. We've only been here going on 7 yrs. so gradually changed things over to reflect our style of living, not the previous owners. Now if I could only win the Md. lottery!
